Taking it upstairs - sliding doors

(Oldest Posts First)

Just wondering about taking it upstairs to a video ref and how glaringly obvious it is needed for inter county championship matches. If it was introduced say a decade ago, how would the results have been effected and or would it have prevented/aided in many teams in winning something huge like an All Ireland or provincial final.
Obviously the one still haunting me is 2010. Had it gone upstairs Louth would have been ecstatic and Meath may have been spared the rolling strangle hold that karma is continuing to dole out on them.
Are there many more spotlight moments or do they become yesterdays news very quickly?

Suppose that would of depended on whether or not Meath scored the penalty ;)

So where's the money going to come from to install cameras (Hawk Eye?) in every county ground, and pay the technicians to operate the system and officials to analyse the results?

Hawkeye not the same. What I'm talking about is using the cameras that are already at every game to be used in an instant replay to the 4th official to check something.

Where available I think they should be used.

Doesn't really slow the game up if it's used sparingly.

Each team gets 1 challenge per half or per game so that only big incidents are getting questioned.
