Fermanagh have been tricky for us in the past. They beat us in the qualifiers in 2003 and took us to a reply in the 2004 semi final.
That said Mayo have a much better team than those days. With home advantage we should be ok but heads need to be right as they clearly were not for the Galway game.

Whammo,i was looking at Antrim v Limerick highlights last night. What kind of a field was that game played on?It looked awful. And was Spillane correct to say that Antrim played the first half with a gale force winded and yet played with a blanket defense? It looked like a pathetic effort from Antrim.

We have aspirations to take a big scalp, so why not start with Mayo and do it a little earlier in the summer than we had planned...big ask but I know Mayo didnt want us either, there will be a big Fermanagh crowd down for this one

A Belfast field cue.....I have played on them all and getting one which is level is like hens teeth. Even Casement wasn't a level playing surface. The better surfaces/pitches tend to be found in the Country (though there are some hairy ones out and about there too) and to be honest I would have been bringing Limerick or whoever up to Ballycastle or the likes. Not for the surface nor the scenery mind but to add to their journey by an extra hour and a half - not that it would probably have mattered.

Qualifiers obviously trying to make games more competitive by giving Div 1 teams Mayo, Monaghan/Donegal home venues. That should bring on 'weaker' teams like Longford and Fermanagh big time. I had a fanciful notion that lower division teams would be given home advantage against higher division teams but I can now see that that would be unwise as one of the stronger teams might be knocked out, reducing the quality of the later stages. Good thinking from the GAA.

I actually live in your fine city now Cued. Didn't make it up to the game.

Corrigan park is just a club pitch. I always felt it was a good pitch, but it's been a long time since I've played on it.

Very disappointing result for us though.

After promotion you'd have fancied us at home to beat Limerick.

I was very disappointed with us against Fermanagh, the manner of the performance had me wondering about the management.

Ultra defensive, very slow build up, no kick out strategy, played down the wings too much and terrible shot selection.

I think there's more potential in us. When you see some of the results this championship the teams that are going out to win games are the teams winning games. Who'd have thought it!

Cork blessed to get a very beatable team, might not be so lucky in next round.

Seems a bit unfair that Limerick have to play a Munster team and Offaly and Kildare are paired together.

You might think for variety's sake they might try and stop teams for same provincial championship meeting as much as possible.

It's an open draw.

They used to have designated counties for weaker teams to get home advantage but it was removed.

Looked like a bit of a cabbage patch. After seeing that i'm all for the redevelopment of Casement Park.Hell, think i'll throw me shovel in the boot of the car and speed up the M1.We can't be seeing things like that on the Sunday Game in the 21st century (:

Cue you'd need to bring up a herd of elephants too from the Zoo to get the grass munched down as the shovel would be no use as she currently stands. Had offered to cut silage off it for them but its got beyond even getting a harvester in at this stage and sure we aren't getting the weather for the Hay.

How did they decide home team for this round?
i imagine the round 1 winner's were in a separate bowl to the provincial losers ?
So if they draw from provincial losers first they were already designated as home team yeah?

Round 3B could well provide us with a few ties we would normally see in the All Ireland QF's, SF's and possibly even a All Ireland Final.

Might be easier to stick with Provincial games, although these sides coming through could make for worrying All Ireland QF's for some Provincial Winners.

I was just being sarcastic Whammy. I just feel sorry for teams like Fermanagh and Lonford who have to go into the lion's den and face D1 teams.

Ah yeh, I know neverright.

Was just making the point they actually did have weaker counties get home advantage in the past.

Its interesting, there'll be at least one out of Mayo, Cork, Monaghan/Donegal out before round 4.

And if we play anything like we did against Galway I know which of those it will be.
