Is Aaron Hoey Louth's Greatest player Of all time?

(Oldest Posts First)

Could be the Greatest in Louth ever? I cant think of any1 in my generation who was so adaptable in positions around the field and also a superb point and free-taker

Good Player but way off with that line ! How many all-stars was he nominated for ? = ZERO.

Damian Reid RIP was nominated for 2 in the 70's and I know we had others

Or his father - Stephen White. I'd say he was our greatest.

yeb, Stephen White was on the team from 1884 - 1984 All-Ireland, lost out to Martin o'connell for the team of the century.

Hoey best arounder alright in last 20/30 years.
Never seen him but going by reocrds Stephen White was obviously the best ever. Its hard to judge keeper, defenders midfield and forwards, maybe one suggestion for each.
Last 30 years - goalkeeper Gerry Farrell, defender Stephen Melia, midfield Seamus O'Hanlon or Paddy Keenan, forward Stefan White or Aaron Hoey.

Have to agree aaron has being top class for the wee county. He can play anywhere at county level which says alot e.g. full back, 1/2 forward, full forward. And lads stop making fun of JJ Qiugley. At least he would put himself forward and play for the county.

With all due respects Osama JJ Quigley is way behind the likes of Stefan White,Colin Kelly,Daimen Reid,Johnny McDonnell and many more im sure.Aaron Hoey is a class player and would be well able to rub shoulders with the names mentioned but maybe not the greatest ever.

Jimmy McDonalld Senior is without doubt one of the best. His son Ollie i dont think can be matched for skill or class in the forward line.Stefan white aaron hoey are brilliant, but for me,Ollie is without doubt one of the best player louth has ever had represent them
