What a performance, what a player. The man is different gravy altogether. Has to be the most gifted footballer in the country today. Even when he misses he just gets on with it and does something else class to make up for it! Nice to see him intervieed aswell. Never heard him talk before. Came across as a nice fella.

As for Dermo, He is different gravy indeed.

Connolly is a genius but like it or not he has been well below par in the big games in the last few seasons. I expect a big summer from him if dublin can retain sam, its defintey in him

Yes,he has been interviewed a few times.Yes,he is incredibly gifted.Genius off both feet. And yes,he has been under par for quite a while before Saturdays game. One swallow does not make a summer.Lets hope he delivers a consistent body of work as the summer progresses - a bit like the ever reliable Ciaran Kilkenny.

Connolly has been one of the top 6 forwards over the last 6 years and even on a poor day by his standards it takes 'special' attention to keep him relatively quiet. Much lesser lights have received AS's.

Only First round of Leinster . If we win All Ireland and he has done the business then start an appreciation thread.
Or else keep it on the Dubs page.

Connolly is special for sure. Great player to watch and I also thought he came over as a sound lad in the interview.

He's played in a lot of All Ireland Semi finals and finals can't remember too many memorable games from him. He's arguably the most talented forward playing currently but need to see more from him in the big games for me, he does have time on his side and plays in a great team so will certainly get the chance.

On a different note how many of these Dublin players would get into the best team of the last 25 years? I'd only pick Cluxton.

No doubt in a brilliant footballer gifted with balance skill ..any attribute you want,
Temperament is questionable.

Did anyone else think that dean rock should have been motm. He literally did not do one thing wrong the whole game. Connolly actually missed a few scores in first half and had a Peno saved. So versus Laois I think Connolly got motm for reputation over rock.

My enduring memory of Dermo is single handily putting the great Tyrone team to bed in the AI Ireland quater final in 2011, it was a horrible Saturday night and lashed rain the entire game.

He caught airplanes that night and took of scores ive never seen that night, a star was born that night and he has come on every year since.

What strikes me this year is he now plays with a knowledge that he is one of the best, he has no fear, he takes the ball into contact Vs anyone, dribbles, he belives his own own pomp.

The way he played on Sat is a great omen, despite his showboating in the league final where he was hooked, he had a point to prove to Gavin, he obvioulsy got a rollicking, his defensive work on Sat was brillinat he got through reams of work.

He almost the complete footballer, its hard to find a weakness on song.

Ill never forget the point he scored in the second half of that Tyrone game. Right footed, Difficult enough angle and it hit the near post, came down hit the bar, and hit the far post before going over.

But it was just one of those moments that stick with ya, Magic score.

My abiding memory of him is winning the all Ireland club for against castle bar o think it was

The hit MM give him to ribs that put him down in 2nd half 2013, only time I seen him stay down which is testament to his character as I'm sure he is fouled a lot and does be sore but up and on with it he gets

Different gravy. What kind of a comment is that? Don't worry mate the premiership will be back shortly. Feast yourself on England and the Euros till then and keep away from our Irish sports.
