Which club or county teams have the best home results, either wins/games ratio or unbeaten records. Which grounds are notoriously difficult to get a result in down through the years. KY4SAM2015 (Kerry) - Posts: 898 - 15/04/2016 17:02:57 1845989 Link 0 |
We rarely lose at home. In terms of runs if you go back to the start of our current success we went from June 1995 until October 1997 and didn't lose a single competitive game. We lost around 5 games in total up to October 2000 RangerDanger (Armagh) - Posts: 101 - 17/04/2016 13:57:59 1846382 Link 0 |
I take it your talking about Cross and not the county RD? SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2385 - 17/04/2016 15:34:13 1846408 Link 0 |
Did you genuinely think it was Armagh? Lol RangerDanger (Armagh) - Posts: 101 - 17/04/2016 15:49:54 1846416 Link 0 |
to be fair the time frame you mentioned could have been believable given the quality of Armagh back then. It was just the 'we rarely lose at home' bit that had me wondering, especially after Donegal last year. SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2385 - 17/04/2016 16:04:26 1846422 Link 0 |
Would be hard to figure out the combined League and Championship runs, but Kerry haven't been beaten in a home Championship game since 1996. Dublin hurlers hadn't lost when playing at Parnell Park between 2011 and the recent Galway match. anciarraioch82 (Kerry) - Posts: 33 - 17/04/2016 20:36:36 1846529 Link 0 |
Think the last team to beat us at home in the championship was Galway in 2008. Gleebo (Mayo) - Posts: 2208 - 18/04/2016 16:35:58 1846926 Link 0 |
Open to correction on this but I don't think we've been beaten in Ballybofey in league/championship since 2010. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9136 - 18/04/2016 16:41:49 1846928 Link 0 |
Fermanagh went 12 games unbeaten at home in all competitions until the Cavan game this year. Fortress Brewster! If croker is the dubs home does that not make them have the longest unbeaten record? Donegal game in 2014 last time they were beaten there??? gotmilk (Fermanagh) - Posts: 4971 - 18/04/2016 16:56:01 1846933 Link 0 |
I remember having a debate with my fellow county poster,hill16man,that playing at home was/is an advantage to all teams.Hill16 was not having any of it,saying it is the same size pitch etc.Interesting the few posters already highlight ing the excellent home records their various counties/clubs have enjoyed. cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 18/04/2016 17:00:58 1846938 Link 0 |
The Pats in Louth were unbeaten at home in league football from late March 2011 until last Wednesday April 14th 2016. Five years is a long time. Championship matches in Louth are all played at a neutral venue. Greengrass (Louth) - Posts: 6031 - 18/04/2016 17:59:35 1846959 Link 0 |
Greengrass that is some record. The Pats are some club. How do you rate their chances this year? OLLIE (Louth) - Posts: 12224 - 18/04/2016 19:10:44 1846983 Link 0 |
Thats some record alright greengrass KY4SAM2015 (Kerry) - Posts: 898 - 18/04/2016 19:33:09 1846990 Link 0 |
instead of looking at a timeframe or how long an unbeaten run a team has had it makes more sense to say how many games a team have gone unbeaten. otherwise it's meaningless. s goldrick (Cavan) - Posts: 5518 - 18/04/2016 21:09:49 1847027 Link 0 |
It's an eleven game league. By my reckoning in that 5 year period including 4 home semi finals they went 31 games unbeaten. Early days yet Ollie. Get everybody fit first. If they can get out of the group which won't be easy then they will be hard enough to stop. I think this years championship is the most open for a long time. Greengrass yes I agree. This years Louth championship is wide open. The Pats will be looking to win a 3 in a row. The last club to do this was ironically their big rivals Cooley. OLLIE (Louth) - Posts: 12224 - 19/04/2016 18:00:10 1847347 Link 0 |
So they keep reminding The Pats Ollie. It would be nice to quieten them. Greengrass (Louth) - Posts: 6031 - 20/04/2016 18:35:33 1847744 Link 0 |
Greengrass deep down they are really nervous and worried that the Pats are catching up with them in Senior titles. Are you all set for Saturday? OLLIE (Louth) - Posts: 12224 - 20/04/2016 21:33:35 1847806 Link 0 |
Oh yes Ollie. Ready to go . Looking forward to the train and Clerys . Then Croke Park. The Pats will eventually catch them . Greengrass (Louth) - Posts: 6031 - 21/04/2016 11:30:33 1847892 Link 0 |
