What do people make of the Westmeaths managers comments on one of the articles on the main page. Sounds like sour grapes to me. The league generally tells you where you stand over a series of games and Westmeath were rightly relegated as they weren't one of the better teams in Division 3. Three relegation a in three years tells a story and I think he should be looking closer to home than blaming the Longford team for Westmeaths relegation. Stop the cribbing Cribben and concentrate on your own team. Spinx (Longford) - Posts: 1236 - 05/04/2016 11:53:14 1842015 Link 0 |
I didn't see the game but I've seen Kavanagh play (both for club and county) a number of times and I would never have though he was 'well known for diving'. Funny how last year he tore his own team apart in the media but this time around he's laying the blame on the opposition? CroiGorm (Dublin) - Posts: 1547 - 05/04/2016 12:06:48 1842030 Link 0 |
This fella does seem a bit prone to outbursts and probably feeling a bit sick with lack of progress under his watch. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2312 - 05/04/2016 12:28:25 1842042 Link 0 |
Paul Bealin warned of player power when ousted , maybe he was right, maybe talking bull ,but there's no doubt in my mind when a team goes into such freefall there are problems very close to home , over the years have lost some great players no doubt but one to four come on. The Westmeath players highly over rate themselves, that's why they got relegated! kevdog (Westmeath) - Posts: 115 - 05/04/2016 13:06:48 1842078 Link 0 |
Westmeath were the only team diving at the weekend. Diving down to division four.... Bosco1937 (Longford) - Posts: 185 - 05/04/2016 13:54:54 1842105 Link 0 |

Sounds like sour grapes to me.Decisions go against all teams in every game. Was it the referees fault that Westmeath scored a paltry nine points when staring relegation in the face.Blaming others for Westmeath's ills shows a lack of class imo.You had seven games to survive Cribben. You are where you deserve to be. cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 06/04/2016 10:39:43 1842454 Link 0 |

I think Brian might have gotten one soft free early in the game & nothing after that. keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 06/04/2016 11:07:15 1842471 Link 0 |

he said "I thought there was a fair bit of diving. Brian kavanagh is known for it". joncarter (Galway) - Posts: 2692 - 06/04/2016 11:47:37 1842505 Link 0 |
The referee in Pearse Park on Sunday awarded 'soft frees' to both teams - at least he was consistent. Westmeath missed several such scoreable frees as well as 2 clear goal chances which left them chasing the game. keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 06/04/2016 14:52:52 1842638 Link 0 |
