Crossmaglen Rangers BBC 1 Documentary

Excellent show on BBC 1 last night, a club really united against all the odds over the years. Credit to BBC1 and the makers, makes a change from RTE@s half hearted GAA coverage.

Was actually a little disappointed in this! Only me? I suppose my expectations were too high. Thought there'd be more history in it.

Really enjoyed it. Was surprised that there was no input from any of the Kernans.

I'd say that Murtagh lad will be choosing his drinking partners more carefully from now on!

Great documentary. A fantastic club with a admirable will to win and passion for football. 19 of the last 20 Armagh county titles is incredible. Also, may be careful with who you go for a pint with in Crossmaglen!

Have to disagree here - this could have been a great documentary if they went into the history a bit more got more interviews from players, them training etc, also the narrator and music was poor. They didn't build the castlebar game all that much or any game for that matter, it was just a skip through documentary. That being said it was an o.k documentary nothing to get excited about. No where near the standard of a "year till Sunday" and its not because im from Galway :)

I agree it could have been a better documentary but at least it gave a glimpse into how nationalist communities in the 6 counties stood strong against the british and unionist militias to maintain our culture and heritage and that is why we are seen as less liberal when it comes to certain rules etc being changed. Communities suffered so much to protect themselves and in alot of cases all that people had was the GAA.

A lot of irrelevant stuff in it about the traveller fights, the unique language that absolutely is not unique etc. Missed opportunity for me.

It was a decent enough documentary. They are a great club who have come through some tough times and I have great respect for them despite some of my comments in the past. The best GAA documentary I have seen is the one made about 15 years ago by Channel 4 about Ardoyne Kickhams in North Belfast. What that club has gone through over the past 40 years is shocking.

To my shame I didn't know this was on...can I view it anywhere?
I wasted my evening by watching RTE's the enemy files, The British view of 1916 which was a complete farch with commentators like Fisk comparing us to ISIS and Myers talking us down too.

Some Men's wish to be loyal and governed/a subject to a crown is something I will never understand.

There probably the best team???

Wtf our 5th best team hammered the team that bet Cross in the semi, outrageous comment.

The best teams are in Dublin not Cross.

I think you'll find boden won our championship Clondalkindub, therefore they most certainly aren't our 5th best team.
