Kit wear

(Oldest Posts First)

I'm baffled that O'Neills kit are the monopoly of the GAA County/Clubs teams across the country.
The like of Azzurri, Masita, Kukri and KC Sport are still very slowly working thier way up.
O'Neills are very expensive to buy and are great quality.
Masita and Azzurri are decent but don't seem to get enough clubs or county to promote.

I see a lot of teams wearing tracksuits from other brands like Adidas, Stanno etc. Am not sure the price difference in products is that big and my own team prefer the o'neills look and feel for jerseys anyway. O'Neills quality is brilliant

As much as O Neill's etc.. are expensive, both clubs and Co Boards get a return from them.

A bigger issue for me is individuals and some small companies who are selling all sorts of paraphernalia and, lets be frank, all manner of tacky items that have GAA club crests and logos but who give nothing back to those clubs they have hijacked.

Surely all clubs must register their crests and logo and then follow this up to get some financial return and control from these sales.

From my experiance of Azzurri with Donegal and some club gear, it is nowhere near the standard of O'Neills, and that's being diplomatic.

The new Offaly jersey from O'Neills is terrible.

O'neills are the best by far...There was a time when there looked to be a change with Laois,Waterford,Sligo and Donegal all going Azzurri

Fermanagh and Wexford went to Gaelic Gear and I think

I know Connolly had Clare and Galway in the late 80s early 90s and Kerry were Adidas Ireland but can't think of too many more counties that strayed away from O'Neills..

I thinks its only Sligo and waterford that now are not O'Neills

Yep I'd also agree that the quality of the azzuri gear can be suspect. O'Neills is top notch stuff in fairness

Oneills for playing kit without a shadow of a doubt for quality. in terms of tracksuits etc Adidas seem to have some really nice stuff and thegaastore supply a lot of the top clubs with adidas/ puma/ nike training leisurewear, their stuff seems good and decent price.

Ten years ago Louth switched to Azzurri. At that time Waterford, Laois and Donegal all had Azzurri. I much prefer O'Neills myself.

I agreed O'Neills are class.
Take the premiership for e.g nearly every club have different brands gear.
GAA is all O'Neills.
You don't see that in Soccer or Rugby.

Masita make great gear but don t have a licence for intercounty gear. They can only do clubs and schools. An intercounty licence means big buck to the lads in Croke Park.

Have had an O'Neills Antrim rain jacket for about 7/8 years now. Worn it in all weathers and quality still pretty good.

ridiculous that the likes of Adidas, Nike etc are not allowed to supply GAA gear

all O'Neills stuff is made abroad and the labels put on in Dublin
