Anyone going?

I'll venture to this one.. couldn't make the last one in Australia.

By all accounts Australia have sent a very strong side

Sounds like it's going to be very difficult

At least this Dublin born captain will do interviews ;)

Will likely make the trip myself, quite enjoy the series to be honest although I will admit I preferred it back when there was an 'edge' to the games. Maybe I've phrased that wrong, taken more seriously shall I say.

The Australian team sent over this time is the year deal in terms of their own code and I think it could be a good test this time out, lots of physical players on both teams so looking forward to a good hard hitting game.

Not entirely sure on the Irish panel but I don't think the likes of Ciaran Sheehan (massive, massive miss to GAA), Pearce Hanley etc will be playing? I hope I am wrong on that one.

Won't be going but will watch no bother.

If you asked me details on any AIF over the past 30 years I'd have an idea. But the compromised rules, naah, only remember the days of the Big Dipper & John Patton.

I'd like to see the committee change the rules so that the oval ball is used in 50% of games and to get rid of this 'whistle but play on' type of game that seems to come from the Aussie rules side of things.

It's not a bad game to watch but the first venture into it back in 1984 was the most exciting of the lot.

The Aussies were brilliant last year. The Series needs them to take it series if it is to have a future. They are sending a strong Squad so should be a good competitive game.

Good game last year when Ireland played in last quarter. . Aussies taking it serious again is good for it

No Wicklowmen in the squad. James Stafford would be the only ones worth a look. We have given great players over the years, players who really troubled the Audries - for an unsuccessful county. Pat O'Byrne was physically able to lay into Aussies. Kevin O'Brien troubled them on the scoreboard. In recent years Leighton Glynn destroyed them. Hope the class of 2015 meet the Aussie challenge.

The absence of Michael Murphy and Sean Cavanagh through injury is a big blow. Both have been fierce compettitors in this code over recent years

Bastardised game... time to put to bed.... it is only giving the agents an easy chance to rape the gaa of it's future stars for personal gain financially

I have always enjoyed the international rules when the Aussies take it seriously.

Last year, Ireland got destroyed on their own kickout and tried to play a kicking game for the first 3 quarters. The Aussies beat us at our own game and we only made it respectable during the last quarter once the Aussie took it easy and we started to play a running game (which most counties play nowadays).

As always it will be a good measure of our players skills against professionals and their are innovations that will eventually come in to Football. Anyone who thinks their is nothing to be learned should watch all ireland gold. The removal of the requirement to take free and sideline kicks from the ground was something the GAA learned from the compromise game.

Last years innovations (limit of handpass and forcing kickouts past the 45) were installed to make the game more about kicking the ball than handpassing it. It also increased the contest for possession.
Why would we want any to use any of these things. Sure football is about handpassing and short kickouts, no one wants to see all that footpassing of the the ball and high fielding nonsense.

Ireland have a real win at all costs attitude to most games they play in. I hope this is better than the usual fare.

Has the Irish squad been finalised?
From Donegal Murphy has opted out this year which I'm glad of. A good rest will do him no harm.
McBrearty hasn't played for his club these past few games so I'm hoping he's recuperating at the moment as well.
I think it's only Neil McGee who might be representing Donegal on this occasion?

Any Kildare or Mayo men in the squad? And does anyone have any idea where you could see the squad?

The full squad isn't released yet but you can pick up bits and pieces from the papers. From a Monaghan perspective it looks like the Hughes brothers and Beggan are involved, with Kernan saying he's hoping they come through Scotstown's Ulster campaign with no injuries. Another who I wouldn't have expected to be in the mix was Ryan McAnespie, Kernan said he impressed in training but he got injured in a club game last week and he's out. Unless he picked up a knock himself you'd imagine McManus would be there, but no other word apart from that.

Along with Murphy and Cavanagh, it seems Fenton and Moran are out injured and none of the AFL-based Irish lads will play either.

I know Eoin Donnelly was involved in the training for it. I don't know if he's still there or not but I think the game would suit him to a tee.

I'm presuming former Oz rules player Colm begley will be involved and also Conor Meridth and Brendan Quigley from Laois who had spells out there playing it as rookies!

Carlton not releasing the three Irish players again this year. Zach Tuohy was a big loss last year.
