Season Ticket 2016 Renewal

(Oldest Posts First)

Hey Sportsfans,

Just received an email in regards to renewing my season ticket.

Seems to be a new thing -
"Club+
The Club+ price has been set at €200 for all Counties. A significant change for 2016 is that anyone who avails of the Club+ Season Ticket will be guaranteed an All Ireland Final ticket should their county qualify, regardless of the attendance percentage during the year."

Did anybody else get this? Just trying to work out their angle...

Don't know Henry. I've never had one. Can't/Not let go to League and most championship games. Looks like, rightfully, it's prioritizing existing ticket holders, won't let me create an account. Might suit anyone similar to myself that can't go to or ticket used for 60% of games I think. It's a serious list of terms and conditions.

Will that not play into the hands of touts who can go and get season tickets for the top 5 or 6 counties and be guaranteed lucrative All Ireland tickets without having the hassle of the season ticket being used for a number of games. The terms and conditions are so long I din't see if they'll do I'D checks or other checks that anyone using the tickets are the buyer or relative/friend of the buyer.

Last year you could buy tickets for Div 1 early for €10 in centra or supervalue or on gaa.ie. 7 games is 70 quid and add in the first round of the championship and it is 95. So if you don't make it to a league semi final you pay an extra 4 euro for having a season ticket. All I can think is that ticket prices for general sale will go up for next season. Incentive is less and less to purchase this package

Evano, I bet ye'll still sell plenty of the county season tickets there. Best football supporters in the country, bar none.

The price (county only) has increased from €75p.a. 3 or 4 years ago to €85 p.a. to €99 p.a. this year. Are the GAA trying to disincentivise the purchase of them or cashing in on the loyal fans who already have them?

Is the admission price going up for entrance to Allianz League matches this year? Last year admission on the day to Division 1 and 2 was €15 and €10 if you purchased from Supervalu/Centra 1 day in advance, there seems to be no saving this year even with full attendance compared to buying 1 day in advance when you know your plans for the weekend COMPARED TO BUYING MONTHS IN ADVANCE makes no sense to me no incentive if your county is not an All Ireland contender

Couple of points on this;
I have been a season ticket holder from the first time they released the scheme and it has been going up in price each year. I got the mail during the week to say it was up to €99 (plus there usually is a delivery charge). it is getting less and less attractive to take up the scheme.
The benefits are that you get 7 league games free, first round of the championship free, and a fiver off each game after that (barring the AI Final).
One additional advantage is that you are entitled to go to ANY league match in your chosen code. (so if you live in Dublin but have a Mayo season ticket and you can't make it home to watch Mayo v Kerry, you could go to croker and watch Dublin v Cork instead).
The increase to €99 would suggest that the prices to individual league games are either increasing from €15 or that you can't get the €10 advance tickets from supervalu / centra this year.
On the Club + thing - not all counties are running it (so cavan may not have the deal) - it depends on county boards.
Also there are no 'new' applicants allowed for Mayo and Dublin Football tickets - assume that has something to do with the level of interest in the scheme in those counties.

Lads, we're all rich again since Tuesday, hence the price increase. Somebody found the Celtic Tiger after he went AWOL. I wonder will they increase ticket prices for non-season ticket holders?

Seems unfair that charges are the same for Division 1 and Division 4. There will never be any risk of a div.4 game being a all ticket match.
Indeed some would suggest that a supporter who travels to 3 or 4 away games in Div.4 should get a free pass.

You could always attend any league match with your season ticket, at least in the last 3/4 years anyway. The price of juvenile has DOUBLED to €20. That means they are charging juveniles with season tickets €20 for (our second) championship match. Kids are free into all league matchs and €5 in to championship?

GAA Grab All Association is alive and well, the price is increasing for crap seats every year, would pay the Grab All Association better to give season ticket holders tickets for the either the Upper tier Hogan or Cusack in Croke Park instead of the wet lower tier Cusack, you are better off buying tickets in Centra and Supervalu instead of the season ticket option
