McStay: "GAA has a problem with time-keeping"

Agree 100%. At games I start my timer on my watch. Its very rare they play the time anounced the derry v down game this year and derry v longford last year come to mind. This is an issue. A bigger issue is what McStay is saying. Games stopped sometimes for 35-10 min a half and the ol usual "there will be 2 min added time" pops up.

We need a rugby hooter system in place IMO

I agree.

The more hooters is Croke Park the better.

Agree totally, the 4/5 mins injury time was totally negated by time wasting and I would reckon not even a minute of that contained actual play. Every team leading will waste time too, so this is not a dig at anybody, but is something that really frustrates me.

I don't think the GAA will get rid of the current timekeeping system as it totally reduces the chances of a lucrative replay.

I'd love the idea of a hooter to end the game. Imagine the drawn Mayo v Dublin game, had the hooter gone off while one team was in possession, presumably if the game ended once the ball was out of play, you'd have frantic attacking or defending. It would make the game even better.
