Surely he wins the both?

(Oldest Posts First)

If Jack McCaffrey wins player of the year then surely he is Young player of the year as well, thoughts?

Great young fella, big smiley head on him, even during the parade when most players would be blocking everything out!

He'll go close . They might give him young player and give Bernard Brogan senior player .

He's not eligible for YPOTY.

Only players eligible for u-21 can be considered and Jack McCaffrey is 22 in October according to wikipedia.

People obviously don't realise you have to be u21 to be YFOTY. McCaffrey and Fenton are not u21 this year. Diarmuid O'Connor is a certainty.

It would be an absolute travesty if Bryan Fenton doesnt win YPOTY.

Mc Caffrey is a shoe in for player of the year, class act, no histronics with him, does his job. Quite simply an outstanding footballer.

I reckon Diarmuid O Connor for young player of the year with Fenton running him close

I think Fenton is 22 so not eligible for YPOTY which is a shame.

Personally I think Berno probably deserves POTY.. 6-20 from play is outstanding and is streets ahead of the rest..

Philly, Jack and Ciaran would all be close behind..

A Trvesty!!?
No it wouldn't.
Its hardly the most clear cut decision there ever was.
A good year, by all accounts, but there are others in the running too.
His MoM (according to The Sunday Game) performance in the final may tip the balance in his favour, for sure, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Diarmuid O'Connor, for instance, land the award. And for what its worth, i didn't think he was MoM on Sunday. I suspect Philly had that in the bag only for the little incident that he got himself involved in.

Usually the YPOTY doesn't get an all star.

Jack mc Caffrey won ypoty in 2013 . The only person from Leinster to win it in the last 20 years.
