Last Sunday's game was incredibly tough. And had the fire you expect when two of the top teams in the country are desperate to win. Both teams went right to the edge of what's allowed, and both teams crossed the line a few times. It may not be always the most pleasant, but highlights how much is at stake. Also, it these circumstances, there will be calls by officials that supporters won't be happy with. BlastCalyle (Mayo) - Posts: 206 - 03/09/2015 09:46:35 1780998 Link 0 |

Ah I think we do all get along. Any Mayo man could have walked into any pub in north Dublin last Sunday night in his Mayo jersey and be guaranteed some good natured craic with Dubs there. jason (Mayo) - Posts: 139 - 03/09/2015 10:19:56 1781035 Link 0 |
Sure we do get along. The Farmers v The Taxpayers. The Mullahs v The Jackeens. The Culchies v The City Slickers. All a bit of craic and banter. Sometimes it goes a bit overboard but you get that at times between a lot of counties. I was at a couple of Armagh v Tyrone games in 2005. Not sure if they get along any better now but most of them to dislike the other. Made for a great atmosphere though! GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7342 - 03/09/2015 10:26:51 1781048 Link 0 |

I have a lot of respect for the majority of the Dublin team, they are fine footballers and give their all, all the time. I actually thought Kerry last year were every bit as cynical as Dublin, and they got off lightly in the press, while Dublin got a bit of a pasting. But the blinkered view of many of their fans over the past few days has been a bit of an eye-opener. Not all now, but many of them seem to think that fair treatment from a ref is when every single call goes their way, and the other team gets basically shafted on everything.
