He is a talented footballer but his antics off the ball in the last few years are disappointing. You wouldn't see any current Kerry defenders at that. Stato32 (Clare) - Posts: 73 - 01/09/2015 14:48:53 1779940 Link 0 |
Yeah he was definitely up to no good on Sunday and got the reaction out of Connolly that he so desperately sought. I think Keegan could have walked for that incident, a slap, a headlock and a pull down. Pick your colour red or black but with Cillian O'Connor constantly in the referee's ear following every foul it was almost inevitable that Connolly was going to see the line. No complaints though, he did strike, but not sure how Keegan stayed on the pitch. What exactly was he yellow carded for as eveything he did was either black or red? Does every player in the Mayo/Dublin game have to be criticised and threads created?? KY4SAM2015 (Kerry) - Posts: 898 - 01/09/2015 15:43:08 1779997 Link 0 |
Stato, he is the best halfback since your own countyman; tomas o'se. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 01/09/2015 16:20:12 1780055 Link 0 |
Stato32 - You seem to have an agenda against Mayo going by the few posts you have to your username. I don't agree with starting threads singling out players. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11231 - 01/09/2015 16:21:26 1780058 Link 0 |

Yewtree, stato is from Kerry. He said as much on another thread. He is just trying to wind up the mayo and dub posters. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 01/09/2015 17:08:25 1780115 Link 0 |
Keegan had relatively poor year lasr year but is back to his best again this year. Once he focuses on football he's top class. If Connolly is suspended Keegan will have much bigger influence in replay pdempsey (Mayo) - Posts: 1313 - 01/09/2015 17:21:06 1780129 Link 0 |

One of the best players in the country. Its funny how for years Mayo were accussed of being "too nice" and needed to be schooled in the dark arts and that was why they would never land another AI. unclegerry (Mayo) - Posts: 1222 - 02/09/2015 11:18:29 1780483 Link 0 |
Keegan can't mark Connolly out of game. Nobody can such is Connolly's footballing ability and strength. Keegan does a good job of limiting Connolly's influence though. pdempsey (Mayo) - Posts: 1313 - 02/09/2015 11:34:20 1780500 Link 0 |

I'd have Keegan ahead of Lacey these days but not McGlynn. Frank was on a different planet this year. I'll agree that he doesn't have the scoring prowess of Keegan but his defensive work and support running in attack this year was top notch benjyyy (Donegal) - Posts: 1422 - 02/09/2015 12:05:40 1780534 Link 0 |
One things for sure though.. He will be a watched man the next day by the officials and cannot afford to get involved in anything stupid unclegerry (Mayo) - Posts: 1222 - 02/09/2015 12:08:28 1780538 Link 0 |
If Lee Keegan was marking the Gooch on Sunday I'd have some sympathy, but Diarmuid gives as much as he gets and usually more. I think if you looked more closely at the Mayo, Galway game you might have found that both incidences in the first five minutes were instigated by Galway forwards. Picture the scene. Forward drags defender to the ground, ref looks round to see both rolling on ground, both get yellow. Forward gets on with playing his own game while defender walks on eggshells for the rest of the match. Who has the most to lose? As for Keegans pathetic attempt at a kick in last years semi, I have seen my mother-in-law swing a more vicious kick in the general direction of her dog and she's ninety three. Why not blame Lee for the banking collapse, the recent turbulence in the Chinese markets and the current refugee crisis as well. It was either him or Colm Boyle.
