Is it just me or is the decision to not allow the ladies semi between Dublin-Armagh as a curtain raiser in Croker on Sat as complete stupidity? Maybe the GAA pres can intervene in a positive way for once and get this changed. moylagh (Meath) - Posts: 484 - 31/08/2015 15:25:33 1779088 Link 0 |
With tickets now sold for the replay, where would fans of both teams get tickets for a Croker curtain raiser? slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6480 - 31/08/2015 15:39:11 1779107 Link 0 |

As a member of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association I think it's hilarious that people are giving out that the GAA won't allow Dublins semi final be played as a curtain raiser to the mens game. Long.Dub.Glic (Dublin) - Posts: 190 - 31/08/2015 16:11:23 1779142 Link 0 |
Long.Dub.Glic: Not entirely sure what your point is. I've been at replays at Croker in the past where they've added on previously fixed Junior/minor games as curtain raisers. It'd be an opportunity for the Ladies to play at HQ in front of a decent attendance and increase the exposure to people who wouldn't go a ladies game. moylagh (Meath) - Posts: 484 - 31/08/2015 16:39:12 1779184 Link 0 |
If the mens game wasn't taking place on Saturday evening, there would've been a round of senior/intermediate club fixtures and even though the ladies game is due to take place in Parnell Park, it still we wouldn't attract more than a few hundred. slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6480 - 31/08/2015 16:53:27 1779202 Link 0 |

Dubs didn't come in to support the hurlers at the start of year (Dub v Gal, Dub v Long). they'd hardly come in for the ladies football elvistheking (Galway) - Posts: 99 - 31/08/2015 17:52:37 1779267 Link 0 |

From a safety point of view - it makes sense to havea curtain raiser, - people aren't all coming at the one time.... as regards the attendence if anywhere else - probably 1,000 would be at the ladies semi- final..... cuchulainn35 (Armagh) - Posts: 1676 - 31/08/2015 18:24:59 1779299 Link 0 |
