I was away on holidays and missed the Tyrone Monaghan game, I couldn't believe the level of fall-out from the game when I got back. The whole saga is totally blown out of proportion. So first thing I googled the Hair incident. From watching the video numerous times, I didn't see a hair ruffle as reported, But more of an attempt to pull McCann's hair. From what I can see, Hughes put his open hand into McCann's hair, closed his fist and gave it a wee sharp tug down. I think the media definitely stirred the pot in this one, the CCCC then made it worse.
The GAA need to introduce a TMO or video ref for the big croke park games and then let the referees handle the games and let their decisions stand. Because this rescinding of referees decisions is making a mockery of referees and more importantly the rule book. Which in turn causes inconsistencies and total confusion through the whole GAA family.
