Hoganstand All Ireland

(Oldest Posts First)

While reading the love in that is going on over on the HS Long time posters topic and the harmony that it seems to have brought (or is that because it's Friday???) it got me thinking. If Hoganstand organised an All Ireland Competition based on the posters how would it pan out or who would be victorious and lift the Sham Quagmire cup.

I know for a start I would have Ulsterman in Full Forward for ourselves as he shoots on sight and would torture your defences. Also think a few Counties wouldn't have as many people as appears as its kinda hard to be multiple people in real life on a pitch. Would probably have to split Dublin though..... ;-)

It could work pretty easily.

Each entrant be given 30 seconds to talk about a surprise GAA topic. If a panel of judges deemed them fit to go through to the next round, they'd have the H-factor.

Whittle it down to the last 32, make it like pay per view. Get Brian Gavin in to start shouting at you as you are talking & it would be like 'The Chase'.

A great idea, the Sham Quagmire cup would rest in loft watering holes over Ireland between now & 2050.

redhanddefender would be my choice in the middle of the park. Plenty of sledging to put the other team off and when the going gets tough he could take a dive to turn the game

Ormondebannerman would be manager anyway. He's always right and everyone else is always wrong.

Aye Offside you and Naysayer can dominate the middle.

I'll look after the whole full back line if you catch my drift!

Breffni - I'm assuming your post is meant in the same sarcastic tone as mine was.

Do indeed. Do we wear this years jersey by the way, a mix of the current and last years or whatever one we can find?

Probably due to the likes of Premier View, Kilkenny Cats, Rebel GAA etc.
