Come oooonnn Fermanagh

(Oldest Posts First)

Anyone else think that maybe, just maybe they can do it?
Serious momentum, confidence, theyre in great form, theyre an Ulster team, so the defeatist subservience that teams like Mayo, Galway and Cork show to Kerry wont be there.
I think they can do it.

Looks like they'll be playing Dublin now that Kildare thumped Cork. I hope Fermanagh park the bus and do their best to strangle the life out of Dublin. So far Dublin haven't had a championship match because the teams they've played didn't protect the rear guard which just means shooting practice for a team like the Dubs. I'm not saying Fermanagh are capable of beating Dublin but it would be nice to see them ruffle a few feathers and actually give them something to think about, because Leinster was won on autopilot!

SaffronDon I reckon the Dubs would be glad if Fermanagh gave them a test given no-one has made them battle yet. Could be the difference in the Dubs winning and losing a semi-final.

I thought the dubs could play Kildare,I thought it was only provincial finals that couldnt be repeated?

They would have played Kildare if Westmeath won cause a repeat of the provincial final couldn't happen,

But because both Fermanagh and Kildare won, Dublin could avoid a repeat so they automatically play Fermanagh, Kildare play Kerry

No disrespect to Fermanagh but the Dubs will thrash them. Thee dubs first serious challenge in 2015 will be a semi with either Mayo or Donegal lying in the long grass.

Ya I don't think this fixture is good for Dublin at all!

If Westmeath had won we'd have played Kildare as provincial finals can't be repeated. However where possible the GAA like to avoid repeats of any games so with Kildare winning Dublin automatically get Fermanagh with no draw needed.

Fermanagh will have to park their team bus. They can possibly do better than Westmeath in the Leinster final but the final outcome is predictable. Dublin v Mayo or Donegal in the semi-finals.

Indeed Kerryman! Dublin, at Croke Park, in front of 60,000 fans, with a compliant media and loads of GAA funded coaches, getting all the 50/50 decisions and against the mad, foreign Nordies with everyone baying for their blood...how can the Dubs lose?
