Manager's Retirement

(Oldest Posts First)

As Jack Sheedy is another retirement in the GAA world when it was announced by the official longford GAA county board?. Do you think players don't trust the manager as much as they are not competing at High levels and intensity of the game and as they you used to be. Who be the Successor for jack sheedy after he took over a Kildare great Glenn Ryan?. Will the new longford manager bring them back up to division 2 now again but will it hurt them again when they were up in division 2 and nearly lost every match and back down to division 4. Who be ideally for suited for the longford manager. I think the only person suited for this job was Glenn Ryan personally my view even tough they didn't have a good win's in league or championship?

In derry we see Brian McIver the Derry GAA manager we saw him stepping down because of refereeing standards of derry v galway game. The referee had very poor standard game.

Are some the manager's retirements apart from the obvious reasons aka family, journey?.

Is some of the manager's retirements of bad decisions that are being made by the referee and sideline officals or umpires in a game ?? Is it that that they are not getting the support of the fan's and commitment of the players involved?? Or the strive of success in championship and league and they saw this potential first but aren't getting it now as they thought it would be as it doesn't seem it now and have lost all trust??

No manager retires on a ref,s decision anyone who thinks that is a fool , bad decisions certainly could sway you when your in a poor frame of mind , but come on we teach kids from an early age to accept decisions no one will tell me Derry manger came across bad desions this year for the first time in his life .

Why do managers opt out , a lot of time they jump before pushed .
Cant speak for players respect etc as described sure that would change from county to county , panel to panel .
