"You need to have the proper structures in place. There are no coaches in schools. There is no communication. There is no liaising between schools and the county board."

Is this ture? Last I checked coaching was available to all schools in 6 counties by Ulster GAA. Seems this may be an excuse!

Not in Belfast im afraid, if you're going to quote an article at least try and get it correct!

Oh I totally agree with on that one, an excuse for sure. The sooner they get those 'home of hurling' sign posts up around the six counties they better.

C'mon DoireCityFc - at least take the whole quote instead of a part which you then want to use to try and make a point.

And the next line which you left out:

We have one or two development coaches. I know it's well documented, but in Belfast, which is Ireland's second city, some of the kids have never seen a hurl or a ball, but they will be able to tell you who scored in some soccer match in Italy last night."

There are a couple but that's it. I know our own club has taken matters in to our own hands and got coaches from the club involved with the two primary schools in the parish to organise and take coaching in the schools.
