Simple enough question, which I am sure will cause all sorts of offence, but I think in light of recent events, between the ultra defensive styles of football, the sledging that has been taken to a new level, the fighting the viciousness that while present nationwide at times seems endemic in Ulster football (by which I mean the 9 counties, not 6), I think its a fair question to ask. When your playing in a province that is ultra competitive you can expect things to be played on the edge and hen played on the edge things do get nasty...... ben1977 (Donegal) - Posts: 364 - 19/05/2015 15:36:01 1725618 Link 0 |
I did not say it was off limits TheMaster - I was in a sarcastic way saying that this topic is highly original - god I hate when I have to start explaining to folk. Naysayer (Antrim) - Posts: 2071 - 19/05/2015 15:37:25 1725619 Link 0 |

I just hate it when people say that hitting and fighting and sledging are "manly". joncarter (Galway) - Posts: 2692 - 19/05/2015 15:44:25 1725628 Link 0 |
ben, then how come it wasn't happening in ulster in the early 90s when they had 4 all Ireland winners in a row with 3 different teams? It was more competitive then than it is now... TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 19/05/2015 15:44:38 1725629 Link 0 |
Full stadiums, close games and big hits, points, goals and saves...........give me Lenister football anyday to watch one team beat another by 17 points. Last time i checked this was a mans game......sorry if some big tackles and name calling hurt your feelings!! DoireCityFC (Derry) - Posts: 1580 - 19/05/2015 15:48:53 1725635 Link 0 |
Master - if Donegal played in a nice cushy province like yours , I think it might be different . I don't know where your visceral hatred of all things Ulster comes from . Mayo are no angels either , there were plenty of verbals dished out by your players when you's hammered us in 2013 , not to mention the embarrassing fist pumps at every second . I won't even begin with your supporters ! TheRightStuff (Donegal) - Posts: 1688 - 19/05/2015 15:49:02 1725636 Link 0 |

"Wicklow intercounty referee John Keenan was the victim of a violent assault after a club game on Saturday evening." wicklow must be in ulster now along with offaly and galway DoireCityFC (Derry) - Posts: 1580 - 19/05/2015 15:55:22 1725641 Link 0 |
Sorry lads, for all the great players that have emerged from the province, I do believe that the game as a whole has suffered as a result of Ulster tactics and behaviour TheHermit (Kerry) - Posts: 6354 - 19/05/2015 15:55:58 1725642 Link 0 |
