GAA Love In

Just wondering what county do you like to see doing well apart from your own?

Probably not a very popular choice going by some of the comments on the forum recently but for me I like to see Tyrone doing well, I have a soft spot for them purely cos of Peter Canavan and they're my second team after my own Monaghan. Apart from them I like to see Sligo and Donegal doing well too

Waterford in the hurling.

Football - any team that does something different. Donegal in 2011, Tyrone in 2005, Armagh in 2002. Would love to see one of the non-favourites go through the championship scoring 3-25 per game and everyone going 'jaysus'.

Mayo winning Sam, although I wouldn't mind seeing Galway or Roscommon win Connaught.
Anyone but Dublin to win Leinster (not anti-dub, just for something different)
Anyone but Cork or Kerry to win Munster. Same Reason.

And yeah, I'd like to see a new team break through unexpectedly and make the semi-final or final by beating 1 or 2 of the top teams.

If not ourselves then usually it's our neighbours so if Mayo aren't playing then it's any Connacht team then it depends who is the closest to us geographically but I have to say anybody but Dublin or Kerry, no offence but they won so many AllIreland titles you have to look elsewhere, the same with hurling it's Galway or Clare who we support but not Kilkenny or Cork again so many title

I doubt we'll see many on here saying Tyrone or even any country from Ulster.

Get why others would want anybody but Kerry or Dublin as I am a bit like that in Hurling looking for ABK , wouldn't say Ive a favourite other county , but I generally like to cheer for the underdog , therefore Ive been a big Clare and Waterford fan in hurling , in football anybody poking their head above the usual counties Id like to see doing well [ until meeting us of course ]
From a personal point of view Id like to see a resurgent Meath , some of my best days in HQ were v Meath not always on the right end of the result , but Leinster needs a strong challenge to Dublin , now I know all that would have to happen is a defeat or two and Id be eating my words accompanied by a large packet of Tayto .

I can see tipperary making a big breakthrough in next 5 years. As munster is now the top football province competition its getting tougher to win and whoever makes it through the minefield of the munster football championship will be hard to beat in the knock out stages

Nobody. Don't like to see anyone doing well. Call that bitter if you want but as soon as we are out of the championship I don't care who wins it.

Leaving all historical winning records and bias aside - outside Dublin, i would like to see Mayo get an AI in football - theyve a great team and play good football.
Would like to see Galway win hurling cos it would be a shame that a strong club scene doesnt produce a strong county team.

Strong football showings this year from the likes of Roscommon in Connaught, Meath in Leinster, Tipp in Munster and Armagh in Ulster would be good.
Antrim and Wexford to progress in hurling would be good also.

No other team in particular, just underdogs really, I have to admit I wouldn't be one to support the neighbours, now that's not to say I support their opposition but I just wouldn't really support the likes of Dublin or Kildare in particular nor Westmeath either, I just think it keeps the rivalry better. Funny enough I don't really mind Louth or Cavan, but I don't live that end of the county so maybe that's why.

Again just underdogs really, teams like Wicklow, Longford, Carlow, Tipperary (in football obviously), Leitrim, Antrim etc, also I wouldn't begrudge Mayo an AI at this stage and I've always admired Kerry (it's hard not to).

Apart from ourselves, I like to see the other Ulster teams doing well if its not at our expense (even Cavan!)....I would also like to see Mayo win Sam. No other team has been so close so many times.

No one outside of Meath. Might side with the under dogs that's about it. Too many memories in the 90s of lads from Westmeath, Louth, Laois etc screaming their heads of for Dublin back when we were putting it up to them.

Mainly underdogs, Westmeath/Wexford/Laois -and definitely ourselves in hurling and Monaghan/Sligo/Longford in football.

In football, I like Kerry, Dublin, Galway and Mayo
In hurling, I like Kilkenny, Galway and Waterford.

Don't like Cork in either code, sorry Corkonians! Davy has turned me off Clare hurlers.

Monaghan have always been my second team, would love to see them lift Sam one day, also quite like Galway to do well too. In Tyrone there are a few folk around, including myself, who have a soft spot for the Dubs down through the years, not in a sycophantic Down love in with Kerry kind of way but an admiration none the less.
