Team Formations as listed in Football

(Oldest Posts First)

When are football managers going to list the actual formations of a team? Nowadays it is rarely the traditional 3-3-2-3-3 as persisted with in match programmes.

It'll happen the same day you see Gerry Adams wearing an orange sash. Managers are currently reluctant to name what players are even playing, never mind where they'll be playing and in what numbers/shape.

The managers should be made to name thier formation.
Then again they have only just brought in a rule to stop them naming dummy teams so it will be a long road ahead!

Why should managers name their formation? A team's formation oftes changes from game to game depending n the opposition & no manager worth his salt is going to want to give any info to the opposition.

I would go further & say that the only information that should be given in the program should be the squad details starting at No 1. The game has evolved to a point that the traditional format seen in programmes is now redundant.
