David Billings RIP

Very sad to hear of the news this morning.

Had a few interactions with him when I was involved with a sports club in UCD. Always very jovial, in a rush to nowhere and would burn the ear of you if you even mentioned GAA to him.

Dublin, UCD, GAA and St. Vincents lost a great man. RIP.

Didn't know him personally but sat beside him a couple of times in croker over the last couple of years, always friendly and seemed to take great pride in the DUBS.

Very sad. Knew him from my playing days with UCD - was an absolute hero in my eyes. Fully committed to any cause he was involved in. As soon as you approached him - it was always 'what can I do for you?'
RIP

A neighbour of mine, an ever presence in St. Anne's with his dogs. Would always stop to watch any match that was on (whatever the code), no matter how low the standard and always had a few words of encouragement/banter with us.

A gentleman, a true GAA man. Passionate about the Dubs. He will be missed.

RIP Dave.

Funny there was an article on hoganstand about the 11th anniversary of Cormac McAnnalen's passing (RIP). One of the comments to the article was from a "dave billings". I would presume it's the same dave billings, and it just stuck in my mind at the time that it was a nice touch to just mention that Cormac wasn't forgotten by his old college team. And now Dave has passed on too.

Was thinking the same thing. They don't make them like Dave any more or like others from that Heffo era.

RIP Dave.
