NHL Clare v Dublin

Still all to play for with two games left. Dublin sharing top spot with four points could still end up in a relegation battle if they cant grab another point, while Clare pointless at the bottom of the table could still survive if they take the two points at Cusack Park on Saturday afternoon and then go to Nowlan Park and beat the Cats, a tall order.

I'd expect a response from Clare on this one. I'm certain they have the bottle to win this.

The dubs let themselves down with cork do they'll be up for it but it's very hard to get points on the road these days.
Surely it's panic stations now for clare. An absolute must win for them. Should be a cracking encounter

Cant see anything other than a Clare victory .They have to pull it out of the fire for Davy.

Should be a fascinating game; who know's what's going on in the Dublin camp after that woeful display. And as for Clare, they seem completely at odds with themselves this year.

I think Dublin have shown more form, last weeks disaster not withstanding, so I would tip them to win.

I expect both teams to come at each other flying with points to prove. Could be a very interesting game.

I did hear Dublin had a very intensive training on the Friday before the Cork match ?
Any truth in that ?

Dublin started with a bang but perhaps the Clare game you'd expect a back lash from Clare.
However when your not winning matches its hard to get that first one. Easier said than done and mentally Clare might suffer.

Clare are not playing badly in the league so perhaps this is their chance to get a win.I would expect them to pull through in a tight game.

After Sunday I would think the table should read if my predictions are correct:

Cork 6 points
Galway 4 points
Kilkenny 4 points
Tipp 4 points
Dublin 4 points
Clare 2 points

Clare will probably be in the relegation final as they wont beat Kilkenny in the final game. But anyone of the rest bar Cork I feel could be in there.
the league is actually exciting this year for once.

Wild pundit if Tipp can't beat KK on Sunday well we are in bigger trouble than I think. It's KK in our own backyard with half a team. If we can't get a win here forget about September.

I agree with you therealtmo, if Tipp can't beat that KK team in Thurlas they may pack it in altogether. I would expect ye to win with 10 points to spare. As I predicted earlier I still think KK will be in the relegation final. At that stage though they will have the Ballyhale contingent back so they should stay up.

Calm down Clondalkindub I only asked a question on what I had heard. Actually it was on the Cork radio I heard it.

In regards to Tipp & Kilkenny its silly to suggest Tipp by 10 points. Tipp are not remotely interested in the league. You can pin point that in Eamon O'Shea's interviews.

Kilkenny are at their best when they are written off and believe me many a weaker Kilkenny team beat Tipp in the past compared to the current one.
They wont be rolled over as easy as people are saying.

I would be surprised if we beat them and even more surprised if we beat them handy enough.

After the terrible display by Dublin in Croke Park last Saturday evening i would sincereley hope they will stand up and be counted in Ennis this Saturday. Clare, in dire straights with no points on the board and an away trip to Nowlan Park to come, may have left it too late to avoid a relegation battle. For the Dubs even a draw would be a good result here.

Nonsense talk, you can't just switch form on and off. If it's O' Shea's plan to just take it handy in the league there is no way Tipp will be ready come championship. Maybe that's why KK are so successful in the championship because they have been in 10 of the last 13 finals.

Id expect Ger Cunningham to name much the same team as started against Cork with the exception of Simon Lambert being restored to midfield and Paul Ryan starting in the forwards. Its vital that we bounce back here after the fiasco in Croke Park, but also to keep our hopes alive of making the playoffs.

Clare by about 6. Tony Kelly will destroy Peter Kelly. PK is greta on static 11's he wont live with Tonys roaming. Also expect Clare to target Sutcliffe and with him out of the way Dublin have little threat up front

Dublin's problem is the lack of a middle ground or consistency for the want if a better word. When on song we can put it up to any team yet at other times we look like a junior B outfit. It's nearly impossible to predict how Dublin will preform.

Think this match is the real deal , we will learn more about were this Dublin teams is after this game than the other three combined .
We have proven on our day if we catch teams unawares we have players that can hurt you , however we were seriously exposed by Cork .
This game if Dublin come through will be a bigger result IMO than first two wins , my thinking is that the opposition I expect are going to tear into and they have serious pedigree to boot .Come on Dublin .

its coming up on 12 months since Clare last won a competitive match.. Davy is saying there is no need to panic. But the facts are this.. Clare have a hugely successful bunch of players.. Numerous U-21 all irelands in recent years and an all-ireland in 2013.. Manager has lost the players and never really had them in the first place..

Any other county would have replaced a manager with such a woeful record and i believe if clare dont win one of the next two games Davy will be gone..
Un successful with a talented Waterford team and moderately successful with a hugely talented Clare time...

But still no need to panic !!!!!

Dubs for me by 5 points there simply just in better form
