Don't know but i wish Kerry would play in Munster champ instead of Christy Ring Cup, they are good enough to take a shot at it

Ah, hello! Congress has been used for motions of format changes in hurling. Kerry have aspirations to rejoin the Munster Championship but have got to earn it:

1. Kerry have to win the Christy Ring Cup. Kildare won it this year.
2. If Kerry win the Christy Ring Cup, Kerry will have to take on the 4th placed team in the Provincial Qualifier Group in a promotion/relegation play-off. Kildare lost out to Westmeath in this year's play-off and will have to contend themselves at remaining in the Christy Ring Cup, attempting to retain their title.
3. If Kerry were to earn promotion next year, in 2016 Kerry will enter the Provincial Qualifier Group. Kerry will have to finish in the top 2 in that group to qualify for the provincial championship.
4. So here we have it. All counties, not just Kerry, can earn a provincial championship place on the field of play.

That's where the current plan isn't working, Christy Ring champions should automacially qualify for the senior champ next year and a relegation playoffs to have 1 of the McCarthy teams relegated to Ring Cup, it isn't fair on Christy Ring teams at the moment, you can muddle along all year in McCarthy champ and know you will beat Ring champs and be safe for next year

That's the truth. The original plan, after a relegation fiasco a few years ago when Laois had the audacity to avoid the relegation play-offs, was for the Liam McCarthy to become a 16 team competition before relegation came back. All was going ok until London's arrival in the Leinster championship lead to talk of it being too big and a less competitive Christy Ring Cup as a result. It's something which will have to be revisited.
