(Oldest Posts First)

If there was a GAA transfer market what player
would you sign to improve your counties chances
in the provincial Championships and/or the All
Ireland??

If it is one player for me it has to be Diarmaid Connelly - would add to any team in the country.

Seriously though, O'Donohue & Murphy I'd pay good money for, and if Moran (Kerry) was in the bargain basement, I'd take him!

Eoghan O Gara - I recall some on this forum saying Murphy wouldn't make the Dublin team ahead of him so this guy must be good

Think your misquoting Rua. I believe that it was said the Murohy might get in ahead of O'Gara but not ahead of Paul Flynn, the Brogans, Connolly, Kilkenny etc. I happen to believe that Murphy would be hard pushed to make his way into that Dublin front 6, no 14 aside, given the way Dublin play and the competition for places in the Dublin panel. He's not a better playmaker than A Brogan or Connolly, he's no wing forward and he doesn't contribute heavily on the scoreboard. Horse of a man and talented no doubt, probably should have walked for his punch on Connolly in the semi, and will shine in a Donegal team where the emphasis is at the other end of the pitch.

I for one would defo snap up Michael Murphy for Dublin. We need a decent centre back as you saw yourselves first hand ;)

In fairness I jest.

Murphy would be nailed on for any team in the country in my opinion.

I'd stick him at the edge of the square for Dublin and there he'd stay. He'd be banned from crossing the 45. Superb footballer, the perfect mix of power and skill in many ways.
