Paul Durcan

A great servant to Donegal.A unfortunate error today for Kerry second goal but he still should be All Star as had a great season.

I disagree. A massive howler like that should really take Durcan off the All Star list, it cost his team in the end.

It was a bad mistake by Durcan, but it didn't exactly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory for Donegal. It was emblematic of their generally lethargic and sloppy performance throughout the game. Have to feel sorry for him, but I don't personally feel he's the reason they lost the match. The team as a collective did not reach anywhere near the intensity of their performance against Dublin.

Everything that could have went wrong for him did.. Just one of those days. The best keeper we've ever had, can't imagine how he feels right now

Good keeper, big mistake today, but in no way should that detract from the fine season he had. Any keeper in fairly unique position that a mistake generally leads to goal, still would regard him as best keeper this year.

Lucky not to have conceded another howler from the long kick that went just wide.

Don't know how he could get an All Star
Conceded a right amount of goals , Don't get me wrong when he's good he's good but I feel there is other keepers ahead of him including Rory Beggan who had a Solid year and plenty of scores to his name ,
Thought the Kerry keeper was decent , is he not worth a shout no ?

Donegal got away with some very short kickouts, one being collected inside their 20M line, this one they didn't get away with. For those short kicks you have to get them 100% right othewise they go badly wrong, its a high risk game and Donegal lost. Can't blame the goalkeeper really as its the system.

Cluxton let 5 in against a average meath side and still got the most undeserving all star. Durcan best keeper of year and should still get his rightful all star.

The short kickout is one of the many factors that help to produce the style of puke football we had to endure today. How fitting that the game was decided by a complete breakdown of this brilliant tactical strategy.

He might still get the AllStar because there's no other obvious candidate. You can't be sure that it cost Donegal the game as they did respond to get within a point afterwards but it certainly had a major bearing on the outcome. He was struggling all the way through with his kickouts though.

A joke if he gets an allstar - he lost the biggest game possible with his carelessness.

Ok firstly Paul Durkin is still the best keeper in Ireland so does deserve his All Star.
Now I am very disappointed for him as he will never let that go. For people here who have played football they will understand that mistakes happen. They happen in underage, junior B and also in inter county level. This was just one of them mistakes that happened in the biggest stage of all and at a very crucial time.

I do feel this was the difference between the 2 teams but by god I will never say a bad word about any of them players especially not Paul Durkin who has been a man mountain in the team over the last number of years.

I've a lot of sympathy for Durcan and that may still get him the All-Star.

Feel sorry for the chap, hopefully he can get over it, but the mistake was of such gravity that it actually warrants costing him an All-Star. In fact, I cannot recall a worse mistake in an All-Ireland Final, football or hurling. I recall a mix-up between the Cork goalie and full-back which gifted Donaghy (again!) with a goal in the 2007 Cork-Kerry final but I think Kerry had that game sewn up at that stage. This was worse as it was only a 1 point game when it happened.

The only possible consolation is that Donegal rattled off the next 3 points in succession which "cancelled out" the goal, but they had to expend a lot of energy to do that, which I'm sure they were hoping to preserver for a last 10 minute push.
