Kerry Ticket Levy

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Kerry have put a €10 levy on All Ireland final tickets. Given that Donegal were hauled over the coals for a similar levy in 2012 will Kerry be forced into a climb down over this additional charge?

Its no-ones business outside of Kerry what they do with their tickets/how they go about selling them so long as they dont break any rules, Similarly it was nobodies business in 2012 when Donegal done the same thing. I'm assuming no rule is being broken here anyway as if there was, This wouldnt be allowed happen.

No they won't. Sure didn't Mayo get additional income from tickets in 2012 too but they just disguised it better than us. I'll guarantee Kerry being the cute hoors they are probably have it covered.
Mayo limited the tickets to the clubs in 2012 then made more available in batches if you paid over the odds prices for them, hence making extra profit. Donegal just added a €5 onto each ticket which was too open and obvious.

Donegal got in trouble for the €5 levy and were supposed to refund it but not many fans went back looking for it. But if the team plays sh*te and you lose there might be a few looking for the refund.

Surely you have been saving every week since January for a potential All Ireland final anyway ? Afterall Kerry fans don't travel to the big shhhhhmoke unless its for an All Ireland final (Or a game against your Dublin cousins) ;)

I'm pretty sure the gaa won't be summising the Kerry county board to Croke park to give put about this as they did with donegal in 2012..... For what's it worth I don't think they should as the gaa have some check to give our about this seeing they charge €80 for the ticket

The official GAA line on tickets sales says:

Any person or party who sells or attempts to sell a ticket for a GAA fixture at a price above face
value is a tout

Cute Kerry Touts, for shame, for shame.... ;-)

I'm totally against county boards selling tickets above face value. It's one thing ticket touts trying to rip off GAA fans but when county boards are doing it it's bad form.

Or if they do insist on a "levy", why not (if possible) waive it for fans who can prove they attended x amount of club/league/championship matches during the year. Seems a bit unfair that a regular and committed supporter would have to pay the same levy as a bandwagon jumper who only goes to an All-Ireland final.

It is a bit cheeky bu the Kerry county board to do this but it is something we have been doing for a number of years now.
Sure if it helps the players in the long run..having a nice holiday it would be worth it!
Sure barely buy a pint and a pack of crisps for a 10er now in Temple Bar!

That's a bit Irish. I know a lot of people won't care once they get their hands on a ticket, but for a family with 2 kids, that's an extra €40 on top of already very expensive tickets and a long trip from Kerry or Donegal, food etc. Tough going.

Good on you, I should have mine tomorrow :-)
Woops your spot on I wouldn't begrudge the boys a tenner after what they have done for us this year, in fact we should give a tenner towards the minors as well.

What the GAA do and don't do in Kerry is an enigma to mere mortals, like the workings of Fatima. How that excuses the odd hillbilly making cracks about us all being 'cute hoors' is anyone's guess.

Visited a friend in Norway. £45 sterling for a hostel bed. £17 for a gourmet burger in a café and £12 for a bottle of beer. That was the second city. Who knows what the capital is like?

Knock out the hang sangwidges, the Kimberleys and the Miwadi. Fire up the flask and are Taytos till ur eyes pop. Don't eat the crisps during the match because projectile spitting crumbs over hundreds of hot, sweaty and nervy fastooks is a dangerous game, ha?
