Limerick Minor Hurlers

(Oldest Posts First)

I think this team deserve a huge amount of credit for getting back to Croke Park and securing an All Ireland place after everything that happened last year. They play a super brand of hurling, each man knows he his job and they play quick direct ball which really opens up the opposition. They were excellent yesterday and the future looks bright for Limerick.

No such thing as a bad Galway minor hurling team but Limerick made them look poor yesterday with a brilliant display.

Yes and Kilkenny deserve great credit for getting to the final also so maybe you could start a thread including both teams in the title. Or better still just leave it alone until after the final and then IF they win it for 1st time in 30 years we will all come on here and praise them.

Ouch!!!

Excellent point though! You are dead right. The attitude in Limerick should be about winning All-Irelands and not just reaching them.

Tom Morrissey, Barry Nash and Ronan Lynch are some players by the way. Whatever happens I would expect them to be close to Limerick senior squad next year.

It was a good display yesterday but as it is a minor team they could go out the next day and score 5 points. That won't make them a bad team however. I'm just pointing out that minor teams can't be relied on to be consistent. Playing in front of 40,000 or so yesterday is one thing. Doing it on all Ireland final day in front of 60,000 is another. It will be closer to 80,000 by the time the match is over. It's a big ask to expect any teenager to play to their best on a day like that

Hoover78 I was delighted to see Limerick playing so well yesterday and I hope they go on and win it now, especially after what those chaps were put through last year.
But one word of warning - we've been here before with Limerick and underage success, while I hope you are right, the future never looked brighter than when you won 3 U-21's in a row. But hurling needs Limerick etc so I hope you do build on it.

It would be a shrewd move to bring them onto the panel indeed, give them great experience. You forgot Cian Lynch though, arguably better than the three you mentioned. A phenomenal talent that a great deal of the county is very excited about.
