Just ring Paddy Power for next years Championship odds - that will be a fair reflection on where counties are with respect to rankings.

Only ranking that matters will be decided in September between Tipp and Cats. All the rest is nonsense. HS rankings had Wexford three places ahead of Dublin!

NHL div1 teams are hurling's top6. You don't see Bournemouth or Huddersfield fans ranking themselves in the premiership top20.

Lads the only ranking that matters is who is the last county standing come September.

That's true Pope but you don't see soccer teams basing their standing on pre season friendlies!!!!

Indeed Mike, or soccer teams winning promotion, only to be told that there's no promotion this year lads! I was a bit surprised at Oll's 'rankings' there, as Galway are one of only three sides I believe to have retained NHL div1 status 2012-2015 in the revised 6 team div structure, and I don't recall an NHL div1 meeting with Limerick at all in that timeframe.

Mike, KKs record in the last 13 'pre-season friendly NHL' competitions is won 8, lost 2 finals, didn't reach 3 finals. That record is closely comparable to their McCarthy Cup record in the same period. Tipp have also been in 4 of the last 7 NHL finals, so the top sides are clearly carving up this 'pre-season friendly' stuff between them. Perhaps it's time that Limerick moved in on some of this pre-season action, rather than adopting Oll's delusional notion about team ranking, based on a few strong MHC showings in the past two seasons, Wexford's annihilation, and one solid but losing all-Ireland semi-final outing.

How could Wexford possibly be ahead of Dublin or any Division One team?

Dublin beat them and they were hammered by Limerick who beat Tipp who hammered Dublin! And they failed to get promoted.

This is not anti Wexford thing by the way, just pointing to the absurdity of it.

These rankings are all bullshyte. We might as well be 32nd after the disaster we had and I'd say a few Cork and Limerick people feel the same...

1638073 . Who is in the top 6 and where do they stand as of today?

What is it based on?
Because the deck chairs get rearranged so often in Hurling. In one month in the hurling calendar a team can go from being accused of having no underage coming true, a poor manager not physical enough to being genuine contenders for Liam .
Or the other way round as in Corks case after one game.

Go to Lim page down the page on left hand side
Hurling rankings how does your county rate it
Read it for yourself and see from 1 to 32 and where your county is rated and then leave a comment here

Its play ground stuff with the rankings.

All that matters is winning the all Ireland. I dont think its possible to win the all Ireland being in division 2 in the league. In the championship Limerick won 1(tipp)and lost 2(Cork Kilkenny) games of teams in division 1 in the league. Not that great of a record. The media has ye hyped up.

Next year will be a totally different championship. Cork.Galway,Dublin,Clare,Waterford wont fear ye. Limerick are a good team but its hard to win an allIreland.
