Think you're a game too early chap... Need to wait til after next weekend before we'll get close to guessing. Think can rule out the two Galway men for now though - are ya crazy!!!

O Donoghue is the only one on that list that even if he doesn't kick a ball for the rest of the championship will still get one come November

So let's see then

4 players from Dublin

3 players from Kerry

3 players from Mayo (Hennelly, you are having a laugh)

2 players from Monaghan

2 players from Galway!!!!!

1 player from Meath.

How many from the Ulster champions, a big fat 0, no room even for the man of the match.

Listen lad, if you are going to put threads like this up, at least put a smidgin of thought into it, otherwise you just look like a fool.

id love to see donal keogan get an all star think he really deserves one, but don't think he'd get one this year anyway meath didn't get far enough unfortunately but keogan gives 110% every time he goes out to play for meath and in the last game himself and paddy orourke were two meath players who could go out with their heads held high especially donal after restricting Jamie Clarke to just 1 point throughout the game, hopefully in the future he gets rewarded for his talents by receiving an all star.

Miler,

Everyone is free to post whatever they want, but if you drop a clanger you are going to get pulled up on it, as I have been on many's an occasion myself

Interesting selection for sure, the most competitive province that is ulster and no representatives from the champions.......... Could you explain why??

Very few players have shone so far, its too early. Better question would be what players already have their all stars sewn up....
For me the only players with their all stars already sewn up are James O'Donoghue and.....and.....and no one actually!!

Keoghan is a good shout but wont get one cos how poor Meath have been and how early they exited
Shane Walsh could actually get young POTY without winning an all star as there will be so many forwards will bloom yet!
Ryan McHugh will get it if Donegal go far tho, or Cormac Costelloe could come into yet

If i was to PREDICT the 2014 All Star Forwards i would say

Dec Sullivan Paul Flynn Diarnuid Connolly

JOD Michael Murphy Bernard Brogan

O'Donoghue has looked great so far, definitely deserves to be on the mid-season All Stars. Hopefully he won't be given the freedom of Croke Park the next day. Should have a few Armagh and Donegal players included.Lee Keegan is a very good player, good Connacht Final, not at the same level as last year. Cuniffe was good yesterday. Are you giving Hennelly the shout for his kickouts, which were very good? Was poor for the first Cork goal

No way can declan o'sullivan get one. He was non-existent on sunday. Jason Doherty has to be in with a shout of getting one imo. As a player he has matured an awful lot from last year and his footballing ability has greatly improved also. That odhran macneilis from donegal also has been impressive

Walsh looks a great player, but is certainly not guaranteed an All Star. The large majority will come from the two finalists, with the beaten semi finalists,or provincial winners normally getting the rest.

Going by Paddy Power it would be:

Cluxton
Higgins
O Carroll
Cooper
Keegan
Lacey
Fitzgerald
Mac Cauley
O Sullivan
Flynn
Connolly
Mc Loughlin
O Donoghue
O Connor
Brogan

I know the thread is at the time, meaning if they were picked today.

On Paddy Power Aiden O Shea is in at midfield when he would now have to be considered in the half forward line. Would expect to see more Donegal players in there after a couple of games in Croker.

For a Mayo man to leave out Cillian O'Connor is strange.

Wasn't at his best on Sunday, but was Mayo's best player up to then. Really maturing into a top player.

The only certs I can see so far are James O'Donohoe and Lee Keegan.
If Dublin somehow lose to Monaghan, they'll probably get none. If they make the semi-final (at least) then Connolly is a cert and possibly MacCauley. Cluxton will get one whether he deserves it or not.

My prediction, based on a Dublin Mayo final are:

S Cluxton
F Fitzgerald
D Wylie (can't see both himself and Mone getting one if they lose QF)
N Devereux
L Keegan
K Lacey - big games needed but he's well capable
K Higgins
MacCauley
Aidan O'Shea
P Flynn
R McHugh - bit to do yet but playing unreal stuff
D Connolly
C O'Connor
M Murphy/B Brogan - probably Brogan
J O'Donohoe

No offence to any posters or Donegal posters but If Michael Murphy is being put into these teams then why is not McManus for example, He hasn't really impressed so far this year and seems to be much for defensive

Monaghan glory
You are right in your post as from what I saw CMcManus is the best Forward at present. And you know why:::: He has had to handle blanket defences , well marked against Kildare yet He has delivered. All the talk is about J o Donoghue but he got so much freedom in his games so far it's easy to star in a game.
The other one is A oShea being nominated, now he stared against Donegal last year but when it mattered in the AI final where was he. I think there are players not mentioned yet who will end up with an All Star producing the goods on the day that matters sorts the men from the boys.

Season to date....Colin O'Riordan and possibly Conor Sweeney should be in there. O'Riordan has been the best half back in the country year to date

The best forwards have been JOD, McManus, McMenamin, Walsh and O'Connor. Surprised people are saying Connolly, not as good as last year and might only be Dublin 3rd/4th best forward this year.
