Kerry have lost a lot of top top quality in 2014

It takes the better teams to expose such things

Like Meath found out against Dublin

Lose 3 or 4 starting players from the year before and not have the quality to replace such...

As I said.. such things are exposed by the better teams

Kerry have a decent chance of making the final and the possibility of a Kerry v Mayo semi-final offers us the prospect of a great game of football. It must help that they would avoid Dublin and Donegal until the final.

If the Gooch was playing I would have them right in there with every chance.

However he isn't & while they are still a fine side an AI might be beyond them in 2014.

However if everything fell right I wouldn't bet the house against them & in that respect they are in the same boat as the other main challengers, Mayo & Donegal.

Its hard to say. Kerry are rebuilding and people are basing their chances on the performance against Cork. Cork were as bad as Kerry were good. That being said I fancy us V Galway. That brings us into a semi final spot V possibly Mayo. A place in the final would be great after losing the Gooch through injury and other players through retirement but Mayo would not be easy and would be all out to rectify the last few defeats in Croker to Kerry

Personally I think we have as good a chance as anyone. Eamon has done brilliantly over the past 18 months to develop and nurture a young attack minded side which is sprinkled with proven All Ireland winners in key positions. For the first time since 2009, I also feel we have a strong squad and a bench which can make a real impact (something we lacked and which cost us dearly in the semi-final last September).

We have arguably the best forward unit in the country (Sheehan/Buckley, 2 x O'Sullivans, Walsh, Geaney, O'Doonoghue) and James is perhaps the most exciting attacking talent playing at the moment. Sheehan is the best free taker in the country and is Maher can regain form they represent a formidable midfield platform. In addition, I believe that this year we have uncovered a keeper of real quality in Kelly while, as was mentioned, the glib statements of Kerry having a shaky defence does not stand up to any measure of scrutiny.

Now 2014 might prove a year too early in the development of this side, but the past six months has convinced me that Kerry will regain the All Ireland within the next 2-3 years.

In my view Kerry will easily get to the final hammering Galway and beating Mayo in the Semi. We really wont know how good Kerry are until the Final.

Them's fightin words Tralee, but ye should account for Galway and seem to have Mayo's number whenever ye meet in the later stages.

I think Mayo will have too much for Kerry in the semi final.

Well according to some posters on other forums this is the worst Kerry team in years or as one Mayo poster put it "the worst Kerry team in manys a long year"

They've as much chance as Dublin, Donegal and Mayo.

All talk is quite rightly on Mayo and the possible winners of Donegal v Dublin Region. There's no qualms about that at all. The Munster runners-up will be out for revenge on Mayo for '11. An upset there can't be discounted.

Well they disposed Cork with ease, they are motoring along nicely. And they will like they aren't getting talked up.

They won't like this thread one bit.

They would much rather we forgot all about them & then have people wondering how come there are two teams in yellow & green on the field at the same time on the third Sunday.

You couldn't be up to them.

i think thid idea of kerry hammering galway may be wide of the mark
galway will not be sitting back admiring kerry
how good are kerry
having seen cork v sligo
cork are long way from their better teams of previuos yrs
hoping for a great game and galway to test kerrys defence big time

Galway may well beat kerry. it is as simple as this, galway have 2 under 21 titles in the last 4 years, and those guys are going to have a say in the quarter finals. I feel that kerry will have a very tricky game against them, the tipp game will have bucked up galway as they fell asleep at the wheel a wee bit towards the end. that is the best way to win any game.

Yes kerry are diminished, and yes they are in uncharted water, but they showed very strongly indeed to beat cork in munster this year. A lot of talk about kerry not having the competitive games under their belts to properly give the next batch of games a rattle, but look at wexford hurlers the other day. They could hardly run. So I would say kerry hold a lot of aces on the pack in this regard.

I'd say Kerry looking forward to semi against Mayo.
Will need to lift their game though as performance against Galway will not be good enough.

No one in Mayo believes this is a bad Kerry team, or that our performance yesterday would put us within 6 points of them.

Definitely Mayo's best chance of lifting the Kerry monkey off their backs and like I said before, if they pass this test they'll be very hard to stop reaching their elusive dream!
