There's a lot expected of Westmeath's U21 hurlers this year, as far as I know.

Clare are missing 3 key players tonight!

Can the banner be lowered.. I think Limerick have injuries also.. This should be a cracking name

The under 21 Championship has been great viewing over the last few years - hope this year is no different

Clare bidding for a third successive All Ireland and they only won their first ever Munster title at this level in 2009! The Rise of the Banner. Yes Shane O'Donnell is out with a hamstring but should still get by Limerick. Tipperary will be the big one.

In Leinster I fancy Wexford to beat Kilkenny again. Wexford probably have the best forward line after Clare. Westmeath should do enough against Carlow and could trouble Dublin in the semis. Unfortunately Offaly will meet the winners of Wexford and KK without playing a game.

Great result for Wexford U21's last night in Hammering the Kilkenny U21's.

The Yellow Bellies are doing a great job at underage these days.

The kittens have now only won 1 Leinster U21 title in 5 years.

What is going on down there..?? Is it complacency or taking their foot off the gas coaching wise..??

Cant see Kilkenny ever dominating Hurling again like they have down over the past few years.
Too many teams have caught up with them, and at underage the likes of Clare are showing the way.

Strange to see a Kilkenny team go out in such a poor fashion, scoring only 10 points in their own ground. This comes after their minors took a terrible beating against Dublin already this year, though they obviously remain in that championship through the backdoor. What is happening in Kilkenny does anyone know?

Limerick and Clare was good game until Limerick lost the plot a bit near the end. What happened with the free where the ball ended up in the net but was disallowed? Had Limerick gotten that and had the goalkeeper not made an unbeleivable save just before that it could have gone close.

Cats are definitely back peddling. Leinster could become very interesting over next few years.

Dowling took it quickly and from the wrong place whilst Limerick themselves were making a sub I think!

Then he tried to take it quickly again but the Clare centre forward stepped in and blocked him.

That's what I could make out from the TV pictures in anyways!

Kilkenny have set the bar for years but eventually through hard work & proper development others have caught up & possibly overtaken them.

Hang on there lads, the cats are back-peddling? What about the massive amount of work which is going in and has gone on in Wexford? Only those who dont see this effort and work are surprised at last night's result. I felt when I seen both starting teams this was a game we should be winning.
Hurling in Wexford has been transformed over the past few years by the reinstatement of genuine hurling people to the top jobs in the county, the employment of full-time coaches, and really the clubs as a whole deciding we couldnt let hurling fail in the county and had to do something about it. Last night, and last Sunday, there must be about 25 clubs in Wexford with players on either the u-21 or senior teams. This is a testament to the work that has gone on.
Now nobody is getting carried away with ourselves, we still have a long way to go to be genuine All-Ireland contenders and one decent team does not mean hurling in the county is back at the top (it could all go wrong when we meet the Dubs on Saturday week!), but bringing these lads through to adult level (8 of last nights team are on the senior panel) is a massive step forward.

Pinkie I did not imply by my reference to back peddling that Wexford, or Dublin for that matter, have not vastly improved. As keeper says the Cats raised the bar and now others are starting perhaps ! to overtake them. Next few years will tell the tale. I know one of the people you refer to pinkie, he was involved with a team I was on a few years back, and I know that there is real passion back in the purple and gold.

Kilkenny arnt out of the minor and could still have a major say in its outcome...also remember what Dublin scored against them didn't set the world alight either.

2-10 on a desperate bad day, wasn't it? Not bad when the opposition can only manage 4 points!

What are the views on this years Galway team? They've plenty of players with senior experience in the forward line eg. Brehony, Glynn, Flynn and Mannion.

God only knows with Galway - takes more than a few lads with exposure at senior level to make a good competitive under 21 team.

I was impressed with Wexford in the Leinster Final against Dublin but not sure how good that Dublin team were! Should be a good game - The Under 21 Championship has been great over the last few years. Lets hope that continues this tomorrow

Wexford are good. I think they went into the Antrim game a bit complacently last year. Should have learned from that.

I hope Wexford can make up for last year and win it out but this is a tricky one. It could come down to the performance of the number 14s McDonald and Glynn, both are good for goals.
