In football, going back 40 years I can never recall Dubs playing Waterford or Antrim.

In hurling, there is slightly larger number: Louth, Longford, Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, Fermanagh, Tyrone.

Don't think I missed any. What about others?

I collect programmes since the early nineties (not from every match I was at but a lot of them) ...and in football I have Westmeath versus every county bar Tipp and we played them several times, I just didnt make it to those matches for some reason.

Hurlingdub you're just not used to the qualifier route. Think we've played all counties in last 20 years or so. Remember playing Waterford years ago in div 3 in dungarvan.

I know what you mean I collect Gaa Programs and am missing Kerry vs a few. Leitrim, Fermanagh, Kilkenny etc are a few, in the early 2000's we played in Division 2 so that year a picked up a few unlikely ones like Louth, wexford etc, actually I remember us playing Wexford in the National League this was a time when the first 3 games were played between Oct and November, well and now no offence to Wexford but that county league game was the curtain raiser to out County Final,similar in 2009: Longford, Sligo and Antrim met us at various stages of the back door again teams that on other years would never cross paths

For me since the early 90's it would be, Waterford down south. Antrim up north. Louth, Wicklow, Wexford and Carlow in the East.

We played them in the league in Walsh Park in 2004.

Waterford seem to be the most popular choice! Dub footballers played Kilkenny at least once since 1974, but there must be a whole pile of counties like Kerry and Cork and Galway and Mayo that never played the footballing Cats?

Dub hurlers were in Division III at one stage so if you had a hurling team we most likely played you!

I don't remember us playing against Carlow, I certainly remember playing waterford as I'm sure do all Cavan supporters who were there on that fateful day when they beat us in Breffni Park when all we needed to do was win that game to get promoted.i suppose we must have played carlow as we were down in the bottom divisions for a while but I really can't remember it.I suppose teams like ourselves, meath,monaghan,laois,westmeath,longford would have played most counties and we spend our time going up and down the divisions.

I think that was around the time of that old 1a 1b 2a and 2b league set up which was thankfully done away with. Another time we were to play Waterford and the game was called off due to the foot and Mouth. A lot of supporters who had hotels booked went anyway.

incredible as this is, I am 34 and have never seen Dublin play Galway in championship football
Sounds ridiculous, but its true!!
I have a vaugue memory of a possible back door meeting about 10 years back, but i am not 100% sure
But I know this, we have never played Galway in Croker in a "big game" in the summer.

Was living in Dublin in 1983 and watched the AllIreland final Dublin vGalway. I think there four players sent off that day. But I suppose since the two teams have not met in the championship. Also think Dublin have a massive record against Galway, years and years since Galway beat them.
As regards Donegal I don't think we met Carlow

yes dublin beat galway in 83 final
dublin had 3 men sent off that day and will always be remebered by us dubs as the "12 apostles" and by non dubs "the dirty dozen"

SamonErrigal, we played Carlow in the qaulifiers in 09 in Ballybofey if I remember correctly.

Can't remember us ever playing Waterford or Weford in league or Championship.
