Earliest county championship start

(Oldest Posts First)

Just wondering how many counties have their championships up and running? In Meath its the second round of the football club championship this weekend. The third round is down for two weeks time and already quarter finals are down for mid August.

Just wondering what stops other counties starting their championships in May?

Hurling in Galway is due to kick off April 25/26/27. Not point starting early to be honest it only makes the break longer over summer then when the county takes charge.

London started theirs in January! Albeit that is just a racket to get recent emigrants eligible for the national league. A consequence of the Seanie Johnson farce.
