Munster Minor Hurling- 2014

(Oldest Posts First)

Final score- Cork- 5-26 Kerry 0-09. Great performance, but why in the name of god are Kerry competing in it? That sort of hammering will turn fellas off the game. It's no good for either side, really feel sorry for the Kerry young fellas.

FT- Waterford 1-13 Clare 0-11. Waterford got out of jail, they were trailing for most of the game.

The Kerry minors have little scope. They've won the All-Ireland B the last two years. While tonight's loss, similar to both in 2012, is bad, saying it'll turn them off the game is an overreaction. After their next game against Clare, they will enter the B championship. If they had gone straight into the B championship like last year, they wouldn't have learned much. Harsh lesson but brave to give it a shot.

The Cork minor management is competent this year. Pity that Limerick seem to be the stand out side at this grade. Kerry came close (at HT at least) to Cork two years ago, didn't they?

I too felt sorry for Kerry but I totally agree with legendxiv , you have to give these things a go. I know they got hammered but another B title is not much good either. They took the decision to step up. They had some good players. Goalkeeper was very good.

Was at Clare-Waterford last night and Waterford were far from impressive with Clare being the better team for long periods and could have put the game away but for bad wides. But for Waterford, a win is what was needed and they did that in a workman like and experienced fashion and now Waterford have 8-10 weeks off to get the players missing back and lads that were playing fully fit for a Munster semi-final. Clare are no bad team and I would expect them to beat Kerry and put it up to the losers of tonight's game between Limerick and Tipp and maybe get another crack at Waterford

Culchie we will see how standout Limerick are tonight. Personally i think tonight will be a very close game and minors is always difficult to call. We do have some serious underage players in saying that. i would be happy with a victory of any kind.

Tipp had a strong minor team last year and Limerick beat them. They were all - ireland minor champions at the time too and a few players from previous year.

Minor grade is funny sometimes but Limerick do look the side to beat again with the schools doing well this year once more.

That minor Tipp team is no push over though. A lot of crafty hurlers in there well able to take a score.

Shoud be a good game tonight on the Ennis Road!!

Waterford were missing Colm Roche last night, (Centre Forward on last years team) and should have a few more back in time for the semi final..Also this Waterford team won all the underage competitions from Tony Forristal up, so have to be serious contenders for Munster. Limerick obviously are up there, with there pick from last year.

Limerick win 3-17 to 2-11, Cork have their work cut out for them.

Limerick were excellent. Tipperary had a poor touch. I would have paid 100 euro to watch Cian Lynch tonight. It was the finest example of fielding I have seen on a hurling pitch in a long time. Ronan Lynch is a magnificent centre back also.
