Just wanted to know what everyone makes of this alleged letter Raymond Hewlett wrote to his son claiming he knew who abducted her, I mean why would he burn that letter it doesn't make any sense.

The guilt must be tearing the parents apart and rightly so, at the end of the day they did leave the children on their own in the apartment and that seems to be conveniently forgotten sometimes.

I doubt very much that her family are involved. The letter referred to in the opening post claimed she was kidnapped to order by a gypsy gang.

I dont know what is true but I think it all very sad and horrible God help Maddie and her Parents. But i cannot help thinking that I would not leave my wallet in a hotel room unguarded never mind children what an awful thing to have to live with.

There is absolutely no doubt that to go out drinking with friends and leave kids alone in an apartment regardless of how close by was an appalling thing to do. The McCanns will have to live with this guilt for the remainder of their lives. In my opinion this is as far as the guilt goes, there is a theory that they may have drugged Maddie to make her sleep, and accidently gave her an overdose which killed her and that they got friends to take and bury her body to avoid any subsequent charges. Like everybody else on here I have seen and listened to the McCanns on countless occassions since and I am totally convinced that this theory is hogwash. Hundreds of children are kidnapped worldwide every year, unfortunately they are a very marketable product it is most likely that Maddie was another victim of this vile trade.

The story going around now is that she was abducted by a gypsy gang and sold to a couple who couldnt have children of their own. Seemingly this all fits into the equation. As for suspecting her parents, what sort of parent would do such a thing, although nowadays with the moral de-generation of society anything is possible.
