Dublin go into Saturday evenings fixture against the rebels with no win in Cork since November 1981 , we have lost 10 of our last eleven meetings down there , can we end that hoodoo this weekend ? before the league campaign , it was 28 years since we beat Kerry in Killarney and it was 18 years since we beat Mayo in Castlebar , we beat both teams to end those jinxs , surely we are capable of breaking this one .. if we do win we are more then likely going to reach a league final too waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13659 - 18/03/2010 12:01:37 591133 Link 0 |

Wayno..........Arguably Dublins greatest day came down in Cork against Cork in 1983!!! Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8170 - 18/03/2010 12:27:54 591176 Link 0 |

Dublin are on a roll at the moment.. after beating Kerry in Killarney and Mayo in Castlebar sure why wouldn't they be capable of beating Cork.. possibility of any dubs fans getting concerned that Dublin are maybe peaking a bit too early..? Gilroy has them extremely fit at the moment as can be seen from beating the big teams.. but being super-fit at this time of year doesn't mean they'll be at that level come summer.. any worries of fatigue kicking in come start of championship..? I'd feel so.. RoyalClass (Meath) - Posts: 790 - 18/03/2010 12:47:52 591210 Link 0 |

One of the most interesting games of the weekend and all things considered probably one of Dublin's biggest tests thus far. I think it could be a cracker and hard to call I shall not remove myself from the fence.......I fancy a draw!!! Richieq (Meath) - Posts: 3772 - 18/03/2010 12:56:32 591218 Link 0 |

not worried of fatigue at all royal class , i am concerned that a good run in the league may raise pressure and expectation levels though for the forthcoming championship , the league so far can only be a good thing so far , to beat big teams will give us a much needed boost , the pressure is off for the last 3 games now we are safe from relegation .. waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13659 - 18/03/2010 12:57:09 591219 Link 0 |

Tight as a turtles you know what with Cork to edge it but the Dubs will still contest the final on current form, should be a cracking game though. brendtheredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 10897 - 18/03/2010 13:13:14 591242 Link 0 |

I think most Dubs posters after the kerry match last year agreed that the team needed to take the league seriously and thankfully this is the case. Work and family committments have prevented me making any of the games so far, but they seem to be doing alright without me ! Dublin to win by four. thistle_harps (UK) - Posts: 879 - 18/03/2010 13:27:40 591259 Link 0 |

No league win since '81. That's some record! Was there in '83 for the semi final and for league game in November '83 when they were beaten in the Pairc but had great time afterwards in pub across from Kent Station watching Big Joe and the boys lurrying pints and then John O'Leary leading a samba dance up and down the aisle of the train on the way home! No wonder they were relegated that year :) hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 18/03/2010 13:40:24 591290 Link 0 |

Crying wolf I'd say there.. very shrewd these dubs, quitely confident but all the same talking down their team.. their plan for coming under the radar this year is hardly subtle.. RoyalClass (Meath) - Posts: 790 - 18/03/2010 13:52:43 591321 Link 0 |

Dublin will beat Cork. The rebels will be without O`Connor who got a straight red v Tyrone. He was poor in that game anyway, must be one of the most overrated forwards ever in my opinion. Bernard Brogan is the best forward in Ireland and he will punish the rebels. A Dublin win by a few points. AfricanGael (UK) - Posts: 1947 - 18/03/2010 14:04:03 591349 Link 0 |

Royalclass we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. If we start believing our team are up there with the best we are hyping our team and it's a false dawn. Conversely if we are cautious about our teams form we are accused if trying to come in under the radar. It's a joke! I'm with Liam on this one but cork by 3.
