Is this a Joke or what???? It is pretty much closed from October until March anyway barring a few matches like Club all-irelands and maybe the odd schools final and then after that it has maybe 15 - 20 matches all of which take place in the summer (driest period). It is not as if it has to be like a carpet for the Gaelic and Hurling or Rugby where the ball is mostly off the ground and as for the soccer, the surface was brutal anyway! So I am not sure what they are doing with the pitch for nearly 6 months of the year!! Look at the soccer pitches in England where they play nearly 30 matches a year during the winter where you have sliding tackles etc.. and then after their 6 week break, the pitches are again in pristine condition!
I wonder if they know what they are doing at all!!
