Reading Martin Mchughs article on Rory Gallagher i had to
laugh saying he has a brilliant football brain and if he was on
the line with Jim they could have beaten Kerry the All Ireland
that got away The facts are Kerry beat them at their own game
they were not good enough on the day it looks like Martin is giving
credit to Rory for the win in 2012 and throwing Jim under the bus
What as Rory achieved with Donegal since Jim left nothing

Perhaps you're just being a little over sensitive to the suggestion that Donegal kind of blew that AI chance rather than Kerry being the better side and you see it as a bit of a slight.
Perhaps, McHugh is still dreaming of what might have been and is still a little sick on that account and has to be writing something.
Ah, the lifeblood of such sites and social media platforms, the seemingly endless ability and downright seeking out of an opportunity to take offence.
Maybe Donegal would and maybe they wouldn't , the great thing about that question is we'll never know.

I did have a bit of a laugh at this myself. Martin McHugh is very good friends with Rory Gallagher so not exactly impartial. His claim that if Rory Gallagher had been on the sidelines in 2014 we would have won the All-Ireland is simply ludicrous. JMcG left Rory in charge of training in 2013 and Donegal fell apart, he took over training himself in 2014 and we ended up in the All-Ireland final and got beat by Kerry, not the first team to get beat by Kerry in a final.

Look this Rory v Jim thing will probably rumble on and on as the media have an obsession with Jim but I just think it's tiresome at this stage. It's a pity Rory didn't make use of his great football brain when in charge of Donegal this past 3 years. Everybody just wants to gloss over some of the schoolboy errors he has made in those 3 years.
