Dublin Chairman comparing Gavin to Cody

On first view I thought 'you what mate??' but then after thinking about it, he has a point. Certainly Gavin has created a sporting machine in Dublin. Thee are a lot of comparisons but it is early days. Cody did a 4 in a row, a 6 out of 7, beat 4 different teams in successive finals and also won two final replays. Gavin is going for three in a row, like Cody has set his stall out to win National Leagues and is overseeing a production line of talent into the first team so it is a case of perform or bye bye. He has won a replay, beaten the biggest competitors in Kerry & Mayo in finals. I'd love to Gavin stay on His preparation and application is very impressive He's also had to learn his lessons the hard way. There's sometimes no better way! But you either win or learn and he's very much done both with great success. That doesn't mean he has to be as successful as Cody is. The comparison begins and ends at the time spent at the helm in my opinion. There's nothing to suggest he meant otherwise imo.
