Consistency??

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Now we'll see just how consistent tbe GAA are. Brian Cody just put his hands on an official and pushed him back. It was virtually the same as the Diarmuid Connolly incident. If the GAA don't take action Dublin will have EVERY right to feel aggrieved.

Ah stop, cody was going down the sideline and the fourth official jumped in his way and the 4th official pushed him back and Cody pushed the 4th officials hands away and said "don't push me". If anything it's the 4th official who should be banned.

Missed the first half in work, approximately what minute did it happen Ulsterman so I can have a look on the interweb?

Consistency is all people ask for. Doesn't matter if it's Dublin, Tyrone, Kilkenny or whoever. Like Connelly's action, Cody's was minor BUT the rule still covers it, 12 week ban. There can be no get out here under "Manly, Grrrr etc". Either there's rules or there's not.

Round the 20th minute. Bit of verbals on the sidelines, Cody in a rage pushes the linesman out of the way.

There was less contact in DC 'incident '. It was also Sky who started the witchunt. Not a squeak out of panel. About what you'd expect.

Get a grip. Cody was gunning for McGrath and official stepped across him. Connolly was fuming and the went straight for the linesman. I knew this crap would start. Ban Cody if you want but please don't try and say the incidents are even in the same ball park.

The incidents are the exact same he put his hand on an official in an aggressive manner. Let's see what's happens now? There is no excuse for putting your hand on an official so we have been told non stop over the last month.

I agree totally. People think I am anti Dublin, I am not nor have I anything against the GREAT Brian Cody. However in the interests of fairness and consistency the CCCC MUST review this incident. Dublin and Diarmuid Connolly at the very least deserve that and I would back them 100%.

Cheers Ulsterman, fierce thunderstorms in north España tonight so internet was slooooow and couldn't see as much as is I'd like. All I'd say is there's a difference between having an argument with a rival and an official stepping in, and on the other hand just having a go at an official.

You may not have seen as much as others but you have somehow managed to understand the situation much better! There is absolutely no chance of this being in the referees report as it was the 4th official who stepped out in front of Cody to push him back, and there is no chance therefore that the CCC will get involved.

Sure give him the 12 week ban, it won't really affect him.

Of course there is no chance that the cccc will look at this it doesn't involve Dublin. The rule is straight forward he put his hand on an official it doesn't matter how minor it is. GAA are after opening up a can of worms here with all the cloak and dagger going on's around what was in and out of the referees report with Connolly. Another thing here is the hurling pundits tend to play down a lot of incidents so I fully expect this not to be discussed or glossed over. I will watch the Sunday game with interest.
