12 weeks for Connolly. Is a GAA Witch Hunt in progress?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

12 weeks. Typical GAA witch hunt.

A certain Mayo player grabbed a ref by the face in last years AI Final. Nothing mentioned about that at the time.

We could say GAA rules seem to only get enforced after Spillane and Co. on Sunday nights!

Please explain how this is a witch hunt? I've seen the photo that plenty of Dubs have have resurrected of Keegan, ye must have all nearly crashed google searching for it, but do you or anyone else know the circumstances of that photo, I certainly don't so I don't know if it is comparable with the Connolly situation. Anyway it's irrelevant, two people have had similar suspensions handed down for indiscretions with match officials so there is plenty of recent precedent in such matters, dragging your old nemesis from Mayo into the fray does ye no favours I'm afraid

Pictures all over the internet of other Gaa county players touching/pushing/man handling referee's never a word about it, but as soon as public enemy number 1 taps a ref the witch hunt starts.

Sorry about the funny commentary but twice in this clip the ref is pushed by Mcgrane and then Canavan, now did either player for a 3 month ban?

Dubs should dry their eyes and take the punishment. Connolly is a superb footballer but he has to get the message that he is subject to the rules like everyone else. This self pitying, myopic, paranoid nonsense from Dublin fans really takes the biscuit. They have had Croke Park, the CCCC, media and many officials in their back pocket for quite a while now and the rest of the country have had their fill of their whinging. I wouldn't be surprised if Dublin do appeal and Connolly gets off on some technicality or legal argument. That however is why Gaelic Games is struggling in places, the one team, one dimension of the Association.

I sincerely hope Connolly wins his appeal. Best player in country. The gaa needs him. 12 weeks to severe for the crime.

Several players put their hands on officials in the weekend games yet Connolly is the only one singled out for a ban. Disgraceful. The GAA may as well give full control of football to the Sunday game panal and the snowflakes on HS

I not a dubs supporter in any shape or form but listen this is a joke of a suspension. He didn't push or handle him in any way an aggressive manner. Totally harmless.
I heard that linesman told ref and it was in ref report. Is this true? If so why didn't linesman call ref attention and red card Connolly like he did for Brendan Murphy a few minutes earlier?

It's a real pity for those who love watching the games best players that we won't get to see him for 3 months but if it puts an end to all these myths about southern bias, anti-ulster agendas, Dublin favouritism and only the small counties getting punished it will be well worth it.

I don't remember a witch hunt after Conor Gormley for pushing the ref in the above clip.

I've loads more by the way , every mill up it happens but only Connolly gets done.
