I dont think Michael Darragh Mc Cauley gets half enough credit for his midfield displays. Has been one of the best so far this year. Scruffy2Donut (Cavan) - Posts: 1112 - 24/08/2010 09:48:37 754401 Link 0 |

I think the only threat ot Brogan is James Kavanagh. If he puts in another great display this Sunday and another in the final should Kildare get there I'd be expecting him to pick it up NavyNBlue (Dublin) - Posts: 1357 - 24/08/2010 10:36:00 754459 Link 0 |

Ciaran MacDonald and James Masters are two of the biggest chokers to set foot in Croke Park in September. For the whole rest of the year the these two fellas would put the fear of God in ya and then for some reason they just never showed in the same way on the big day. 51longago (Mayo) - Posts: 2981 - 24/08/2010 11:05:51 754502 Link 0 |

51longago, i am a big fan of mcdonald but too say he was our best player in 06, come on. He failed to score and his man of the match marker o'mahoney scored two points off him if i remember correctly. He had a poor game, plagued by injury and should probably have been taken off. O'Neill and Brady were by far mayos best players on the day. xxx (Mayo) - Posts: 1275 - 24/08/2010 11:15:23 754519 Link 0 |

Brady was not to be seen till he went back on donaghy and it was too late then, maybe Mac was not our best in 06 and i just reacted to the Kerry mans post but to say he chocked in all 3 finals he played in is rubbish and typical of people trying to knock him. 51longago (Mayo) - Posts: 2981 - 24/08/2010 12:16:03 754607 Link 0 |

I know stephen mcdonnell got player of the year in 03 when his team lost final, likewise peter canavan in 95 but when was the last time/or did he ever happen that a player picked up player of the year after his team did not reach the final?? xxx (Mayo) - Posts: 1275 - 24/08/2010 13:10:49 754700 Link 0 |

Got to be B Brogan. He basically ran the show for the Dubs all year and nearly single handedly got them to the final, without him the Dubs are nothing. Even as a Meath man I felt very sorry for him after the Cork game, deserves to be on a better team. This Dublin mabe have a few Leinsters in them but no All Irelands, WAY to many paggengers. posh (Meath) - Posts: 633 - 24/08/2010 13:36:01 754740 Link 0 |

Bernard Brogan is top of the pile by a country mile. He has been unreal and seeing him live on sunday only made my belief even stronger that he is some player. rebeltrev (Cork) - Posts: 344 - 24/08/2010 17:51:51 755272 Link 0 |
