sedico - Your very welcome. Honestly I didn't see us in a semi when we were 0-7 0-1 down in the first half yesterday and with Donegal and Kerry Winning and staying up was the main objective. The semi is just a bonus. I think Kildare should go all out to win the league - a bit of silverware would do them the world of good.

Don't you think Mayo could do with a trophy at this time yew-tree, or maybe you have set your goals on a bigger prize?

Yes a league title would be nice but I am not too bothered about the Dublin game as long as we don't get hammered. Our first championship game is only 6 weeks away now v Galway and they are waiting in the long grass for us. I would take a win over Galway rather than an NFL title right now.

It would be nice to win it but it will be forgotten come championship.

All well and good but imo the u21s take priority at the moment. I think our old grand don't seem to be competing this year and we're badly stuck without our few u21s. Maybe I'm wrong but can't see them taking any part next weekend.

I am not that bothered about winning the league either yt. I would hope we go hell for leather against the dubs though. I am confident that we could get a result against them on a good day and a good run out in croker against the form team in the country is far better preperation than any training we could do. If we do to brogan what we did to murphy, dublin will be a far easier proposition. I dont really care about the final, if we were to win against the dubs. Giving galway a good hiding in salthill would take priority at that point for me!

I have to laugh at all these counties who aren't bothered about winning the league, you'd sear there were winning leagues and Sam every year. I would love to win the league it's been too long for us without a league title. Sorry if that disappoints Mayo and Kildare supporters

i agree with clondalkin, there is only two national titles any county can win and theres a big break between both cometitions so why not try win both would be my idea.

Have to say clondalkin, doesn't bother me in the slightest if we don't win the league, I remember walking out of Croker after Cork beat us by a point in the 2011 decider, and no one seemed bothered, not to mention the atmosphere was dead!

Not saying I was doing a dance for joy or anything, just wasn't that disappointed, and like I said, terrible atmosphere for a 'National Final', look, it's just not as prestigious and that's the fact.

Dublin have already won the league, check the table and see for yourself.

I agree with that Brend, silly set up, 50% league, 50% knock out, rubbish!

Anyone else think RTE's coverage of the league show was a joke? Pure amateurish in my opinion. The logistics of the last day were unreal, A relegation battle between Mayo, Kerry and Donegal and if results went the right way a semi final place up for grabs between Cork, Mayo and Donegal. The show could have been full of suspense and really showcased the drama of the league. It was gripping stuff but instead first game shown Dub v Donegal and then they just mention in passing Donegal are relegated, removes all drama, didn't explain to viewers how close it was at both ends of the table and a few scorers either way would have changed things dramatically. Very disappointing in my opinion, I know the majority of people new the outcome already but an opportunity missed to really portray the sport in a good light. A far cry from Match of the Day that's sure.

Our u21s are more important at the moment and if that is to the detriment of the league semi then ce la vie. In fairness you can't really be called balanced when it comes to Kildare can you?

Mayo to overturn Dublin, Tyrone too strong for Kildare

Not that we wouldnt like to win it clondalkin, just that we have galway on the horizon very soon after the date for the final. They will be primed for that game and have most likely been preparing for it already. I would rather be ready and waiting for that game than win a league only to be caught on the hop by the noisy neighbours. This isnt the Leinster championship walk-over you are talking about now!

I agree realdub, RTE's coverage is shameful. You had the 2 finalists from the previous year, and the top football county of all time, in a 3 way shootout against 3 of the top teams in the country, where ultimately the all ireland champions were the ones to go. That should have been built up into a big spectacle. If sky sports can turn qpr v wigan into a big occasion then our broadcaster really needs to take a look at themselves. I think if there was more coverage you would get more interest, and that would lead to more people watching and going to games. There was just over 2000 at the mayo cork game, and mayo had the majority! If there as more coverage and more billing of the event then I have no doubt more people would tune in, and ultimately go to games. Look at the EPL,and the wonders sky's coverage have worked for the league.

Agreed Brend, whoever finishes top of the table should lift the trophy.

I'd agree the trophy should be Dublin's already. Just as it should have gone to Kerry last year when we topped the division 1 table. Sure we get all the knock-out we want in the championship, well sort of once the back-door closes after the provincial finals.
