1111859 The Central Competitions Control Committee have decided not to take further action against any individual Kildare or Monaghan players as a result of the altercations that broke out as the teams made their way off the pitch at half-time of the Allianz football league Division 2 match in Clones.

Instead, both county boards have been hit with heavy fines as a consequence of their players' actions. The CCCC clearly felt this was sufficient

The proposed fines have not been made public, but are understood to be €5,000 for each. The counties can contest the proposed sanction.

Just as I thought, one law for the southern/county teams and another for the northern/junior minnows

Your not the sharpest tool in the box are ya?

Monaghan is an Ulster county. they got the same fine.

Hang on a minute Superglue - I watched the video of the NFL match and there was more thuggery involved and worse punches thrown in that game than there was in the Junior All-Ireland Club Semi. Now, regardless of who was involved or if supporters were involved or not the CCCC should be looking at the players and subs from Kildare and Monaghan who obviously are beating the bejaysus out of each other. How no individual player has been suspended as an outcome of that is beyond me. Seems like a certain Mr Wonder sits on the CCCC board.

Nonsense. By the way Monaghan are a northern team. Catch a grip of yourselves and grow up.

Can someone define Northern and Southern once and for all?
A few months back I referred to Cavan as northern was one of the Cavan lads gave out to me. Now Monaghan is northern. I dunno.

In other news the chairman of the CCCC is from Tyrone. I know he stepped aside for the Junior incident but would have been involved in the NFL decision.
He must be biased towards the southern teams

why did monaghan get a heavier fine!!! sadly i think somepeople just want to vent their anger that has built up over the years on other issues and this gives an opportunity. its 32 county gaelic ,some people on here are trying to create a bigger divide as TOM 1916 SAID GROW UP.

Just a point;

As I think has been mentioned already on this thread there is a lot of selective condemnation evident- those of you who are so ready and willing now to shout down another posters comments, were strangely quiet when much of the bile was being posted.

By the way I do not have a strong opinion on the current CCC judgement however I would like to see consistency shown and not just by the CCC.

Ah now come on Dan Breen ..would you not spend an oul night in the North for a bit of balance. I can recommend a good B&B in Ardboe/Brockagh. You could take in the Sperrins in the north of the county ..maybe even give the Derry wans an oul turn.

I was just mentioning my recent trips Tyronetim. I've often being to the North, Derry, Belfast, really like the North Antrim coast (preferred place in the North), in Cookstown, being to the glenavon, mulligans, cartwheel, haven't gone to the new Mo's yet (old conway inn) and the drink in the 'hall' and the 'club' in Ardboe does be cheap enough! Slán tamaill.

Reply - I didn't mention Ulster in my statement above; I referred to "Northern" as I believe some people in GAA authority still see us as outsiders and I feel we are treated differently.
And speaking of sharpest tools, your last two lines would suggest you may not be that sharp yourself. ie "Your not (either you are not or you're not)the sharpest tool in the box are ya?

Given that he has the same vote as every other member of the committee I would suspect that he would have to go with the majority unless it was a tie

Maith an Fear. Never doubted you - just thought was worth a go given the way this thread has gone. Expected some of the usuals to jump on it. Sounds like you've done a fair bit up here and know Cookstown well. I heard Mulligan had taken over the INF there. Hopefully you were well received - Tyrone people love to talk football so you'd be at home there.

Ah but Tyronetim - the line that stuck out the most for me was "..really like the North Antrim coast (preferred place in the North)". Dan Breen is obviously a man of exquisite taste... ;-) Up the Glens!!

A separate nation? You better believe it. We are the forgotten part of the North politically but we'd have it no other way... Sure as long as Irish tradition is alive and well up our way we're happy. Oh and come on the Shamrocks, do us all proud on St Patricks (Patriques) day.

Well it's not harsh relatively speaking. It is somewhat shorter than that received by Derrytresk, likely due to the substitute situation. It would appear then that the CHC has decided that BOTH teams are guilty of misconduct and not just the one as you appear to think.

At no stage did i say just one team one was at falt, the only people saying one team was at falt was some of the Ulster lads and they tryed to make out Derrtresk didn't nothing wrong
