So far it would be Bernard Brogan for me. He has been outstanding and absolutely carried Dublin through a couple of those qualifier games, and also hit some crucial scores in the second half of the Tyrone game. They wouldn't be still in the championship without him. aidangalway (Galway) - Posts: 648 - 03/08/2010 13:36:21 734072 Link 0 |

I think player of the season will be decided over the next 2 games but I suppose the nominations are Bernard Brogan, James Kavanagh, John Doyle & Martin Clarke. Its difficult to think of 1 or 2 outstanding players for Cork in the Championship so far with them not really setting the world on fire but I suppose P.O'Neill really turned the screw on the Rossies at a vital time on Sunday. pigonastick (Dublin) - Posts: 487 - 03/08/2010 16:21:26 734455 Link 0 |

the player of the year shouldnt kick a point just for his own tally when his team need a goal. or shoot from the corner with his left foot in the dying minutes. he's good, but he's far from the finished article Rhodejim (Offaly) - Posts: 2888 - 23/08/2010 15:20:04 753722 Link 0 |

I think that is harsh RhodeJim. He was brilliant yesterday and has been so in any game I watched on the telly. For me Brogan is the stand out player of the year. corkcelt (Cork) - Posts: 4388 - 23/08/2010 15:49:41 753772 Link 0 |

Bernard Brogan by a mile....Rhodejim you know very little about Gaelic football, obviously suffer from the typical anti-Dublin bias too....Youre makn a bit of a laughn stock of yourself passin such remarks bout Bernard on this forum.....The commentators on the Sunday Game yesterday described him as one of the best Gaelic players (from any county) ever ........He is a spectacular player , in a class of his own.....
