meath beat monaghan, monaghan beat kildare, kildare beat meath...... what you have to say now royal ? meath just cant beat kildare even when kildare are playing way below par. meath will struggle to pick up points from here on in. kildare, monaghan and derry all 3 have westmeath to play and you'd imagine that all 3 will beat westmeath with monaghan possibly the team struggling to do so. i think meath could be in real trouble after tonights result.

Judging from what ive seen so far, i expect Tyrone to be promoted, not sure who will join them, with Louth, Monaghan, Galway and Westmeath all to be involved in a relegation battle.

Winners of next weekends Galway/Meath match wil be in with a decent shout of second spot, Tyrone look a cert to top the table. Bad defeat for Monaghan today after their moral boosting win over Kildare which leaves them in the danger zone but credit Derry who done well after a bogey start, expect the Lillies to make a promotion charge from here on in after victory in Navan. Westmeath gave themselves a chance of survival today and deserve great credit for their victory and Louth gave a decent performance against Tyrone all of which highlights the unpredictability and tightness of the division although such games can only be of benefit as everyone prepares for the smell of cut grass and summer football.

It certainly is a pig of a different snout gaelantrim and opens up Division 2 nicely with plenty of contenders now to take the second spot behind Tyrone.

You certainly have issues gammy real issues. Meath were magnificent on saturday as were kildare. A fantastic match to be at. And even the most loyal kildare supporter will say game could have went either way. The real winner from this match was football. Decent honest football. It had speed pace some fantastic scores. Where kildare very much had the edge was in midfield. Yes kildare will beat wmeath as all those that you mentioned will. As we will beat louth. The key games hear are us and kildare against galway. One of the 3 of them will be promotes along with tyrone. Monaghan will survive as will derry. Leaving westmeath and louth returning to where the came from.

Fantastic to see meath back where the always should be. Roll on the summer. Well done banty. No one and I mean no one left navan feeling terrible yes disappointed but we played our best football in 2 years. Well done to all the players and in particular the management. And also to kildare. Best 50e I spent in years. A credit to the gaa

Half Time scores

Meath 0-06 0-08 Kildare.........score line flatters Meath.

Derry 0-09 0-03 Monaghan......Monaghan down to 14 men, Derry dominating what is a very poor poor game.

How good can a performance be when you lose at home in the Nfl having been out scored 18 to 13.
Very surprised at so many Meath people being happy with a "performance " which ultimately wasn't good enough.
It looked like a game where Kildare were better all through and Meath got 2 second half goals to stay in contention.
Louth were much the same yesterday believing they tested Tyrone when in reality Tyrone were comfortable and could lift it when required.

I knew it wouldnt be an easy game against Louth, altough Louth tested our back line i would point out that Micky had a few second preference players on the field pf play including Niall McKenna and Kyle Coney. He rested Michael Murphy (Glabally) who was class in the first two games and no Stephen O'Neill either. Still, a win is a win and looking forward to watching WestMeath next time round, a county i have rarely seen in action before!

If the hogan stand forum is anything to go by, Louth fans would rather post about Meath games than Louth games.
Obsessed!

Real shame about the mounting Derry injury list. Its much worse than the norm. Think Kildare will make hay , and why not , but feel Derry at full strengh have much better footballers. Kildare to win against a massively depleted Oak leaf. Also fancy Tyrone to continue their seemless return to the top flight. Galway to nick it against Meath and Monaghan to beat Louth.

Kildare v Derry. Earley alive and kicking!

Just finished there, good display but Kildare still leaking goals. Earley came on a few minutes to go, caught his first high ball and kicked a point! Your thoughts?

Tyrone seem to be in flying form and look certs to go up. However it's completely open who will be joining them. The different combinations and possible permutations of results would make your head spin but after next week I think things will become a lot clearer. Hopefully Kildare will win their next two games to end up travelling to Galway on the last day with a real shot at promotion but I'm sure all other posters from the other respective counties feel the same. If Louth or Westmeath get a win or two who knows what might happen at the other end though?
