GAA providing excellent value for money

Why are the only available seats to students and oaps always the poor seats at the corner of the cusack and behind the goal at the canal end. If you want to sit in the hogan you don't get a discount. Why should those who are less well off have to pay for the poor seats and not be allowed sit in decent seats. I think it's a disgrace

keeper and ormond - please read my last post - i was charged €5 each for a 4 and 6 year olds for an under 16s rugby game. - I think this is wrong under tens should not be charged to get into schoolboy games --- the majority of attendees at such games were not 4 to 6 years olds --do either of you think it is right to charge this much for a schools game for 4 and 6 year olds

- in fairness to the GAA when it comes to kids they generally get it right - --- also going back to my previous post in cusack park the three of us could have a puck around after the game as well whereas after the rugby we couldnt i understand the reason they dont, but still its nice for me and the kids to have a puc about (or kick about) on famous grounds

What do schools gaa games charge in for students as in all my time going to harty cup games etc while a sec school student I was always charged in and iirc it was always at least €3 and regularly was €5 or more."
Who do you think mostly attends schools matches??? It might as well be free for everyone if you don't charge the students. €3 or €5 will hardly break the bank. Jeez!

You completely missed the point....

Agree pricing structures need to be looked at. While GAA do wonders for providing clubs with adult and child tickets at a very low cost up to all-ireland semi sking people to cough up €80 for a ticket for a child under 12 or even 16 years of age for the AI Final is a joke. Why isnt there concessions on AI Final day?
sliotharfan (Galway) - Posts:82 - 26/08/2015 13:39:20
Because all Ireland final day is the biggest day of the year with the highest demand for tickets. There will always be demand on all Ireland final day from those who will be paying for the adult ticket....

I still don't see the problem. Its a final. Unless its a toddler or a baby then you don't have the right for them to get in for free. The majority of attendees are not 4-6 years of age. Its about the potential of risk and I see nothing wrong with stopping people from entering a field of play in a stadium holding several 000s from entering a field to puck the ball. its about risk and potential harm that can occur. I think at major games unless you are playing, coaching or directly connected to team then you have no right to be near the field of play bar if there is an emergency

The gaa is good value for 85 Euro u can get access to all your countys 7 league games plus a league semi final double header, probably cheaper if u have a season ticket, in comparison I had a friend to paid 80 Euro for the Ireland Italy six nation's game, similarly ireland warm up game for the rwc cost 66 Euro while I paid 60 Euro for 2 tickets for the dublin mayo semi final replay.

just read this on the above link re tomorrows Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup final between Young Munster and Cork Constitution --Entry for OAP's and children aged 16 years of age and under costs €5. So my 4 and 6 year old will be charged €5 each to watch a game of club rugby . Mrs J working so if am going they go. This is a disgrace. If i wasnt a diehard Munsters supporter Id be tempted not to go in protest.

The Munster Branch have form in this regard in that to attend the Munster Schools Junior cup final they were charged €5 each as well. For an under 16 match. Compare this to GAA - to watch any Limerick National Hurling League game or any Limerick Club game -kids go free. For the same €5 they can attend Munster Senior Hurling Championship Quarter final and semi final games. The Ulster Bank League final had free admission for children. We will probably go watch a Limerick Senior Club hurling championship game on saturday and sunday evening. Kids are free into these.

In fairness to Munster rugby season ticket holders from next season on will be able to bring 2 kids free to 10 of the pro 12 games so credit to them on that. For people who say its only a €5er - i say would the extra €5 per child make you less likely to go - unless you are a diehard fan - in a lot of cases it would , All sports bodies need to encourage kids to go to games. In fairness to the GAA when it comes to kids they are getting it right , so well done

No it isn't a disgrace. All schools games charge in kids. Regardless of the sport. Any Harty cup game will have kids charged in. Comparing national league with schools cup rugby game isn't comparing like for like. All sports do need to encourage kids to go and Munster do a lot to promote kids going to games. 4-8 different clubs get 25 free kids tickets and 5 adult tickets free into every single game and there is more kids tickets for free at every game.
To be perfectly honest your posts on this matter are very self entitled and whinging. All kids will be charged into any schools game

At the minor hurling game in Parnell park on Saturday , 10 euro for myself u 16s free , fantastic value and no doubts whatsoever that crowd was bumped by the free admission for kids of which there were hundreds .

no its not a whinge , i just believe that if cheaper prices are charged for kids in any sport more people will attend and more kids will be inspired to play sports and to be fair €5 for most if not all of this weekends championship games is great value, and in fairness the gaa when it comes to charging kids generally get it right i.e. €5er for most championship games (some are free) and free into nearly everything else and bring them on the pitch after the game for a puck or kick about - great value so well done the GAA on ths

i contacted munster branch and in fairness to them the y did not charge the smallies. for senior cup final..excellent game pity about result and players being pulled....sin sceal eile!!!

It is a bit self indulgent. Kids will get cheaper in for some games but that doesnt mean for all games. A schools game which charges in. Most in rugby dont. Only the schools cup games and the provincial finals in youths rugby charge in. All kids bar toddlers and babies will be charged in and it is right to charge in,

At what age do you start charging then? What if you have a very big 6/7 year old or a small 10 year old? ETC
All have to have tickets and for schools games all have to pay in. I have no problem with that
Kids should be charged in to most games depending on level and circumstances of the game. all schools games will charge kids in and thats right. That money goes towards those schools competitions etc
